My first impression of the knife when I received it was that it felt really cheap. The handle on this knife is definitely the worst out of any of the benchmades I've previously handled. As far as the blade and axis lock go I love it. The profile of the blade Was exactly what I was looking for and I fell in love with the axis lock when I purchased my first Benchmade knife about six months ago. Now even though I like the axis lock, the one on this knife is a lot more difficult to use than on my griptillian. There's not nearly as much purchase on the lock studs, the same goes for the thumb studs on the blade, I find it to be a lot more difficult to open and if I actually use the thumb studs to flick the blade open it always drags on one side. I think I would have had a lot better luck with the 531 and if I could go back I would have bought it instead. Overall I feel like this knife was a poor investment.

I just got this knife with some Christmas money I had and spent over an hour trying to decide between a spyderco tenacious or the Benchmade 530 pardue. It was hard to pick the spyderco was ok but had a bad blade centering and some up and down movement in the blade, i tried the Benchmade and it was so well centered I thought it would have an extremely tight blade but it flicked open without any movement of my wrist. Then I tested the edges and the spyderco barley pulled hair but the Benchmade was sharper than my straight razor. After the very long contemplation I finally decided on the Benchmade although it was more expensive. In summary: this knife is only good for knife lovers who appreciate the fine workmanship in a Benchmade, anybody else looking for a knife that's cheap and won't have you crying if you break it better look at something like cold steel or spyderco. I think this Benchmade is so nice I would compare it to a sebenza, I love the craftsmanship on a sebenza when I first ever opened one but can't and never will be able to afford one, but the Benchmade is as nice if not nicer than a $400 sebenza 21 mini for a 1/4 of the price. Thank you Benchmade keep up the good work I will be buying more of your knives in the future.

I received this knife for Christmas just a few weeks ago. I really wanted something thin and light, both of which this covers masterfully. This knife is very tactical aesthetically, something that I personally am not a fan of since I work in an office environment. The Black Grivory material has a fantastic feel and does not show scratches, but is still rather "cheap" looking due to its plastic qualities. Regardless, my only complaints so far are a result of this being a gift and not of my own choosing, it is of fantastic quality. The profile of the blade is similar to a dagger, yet only one side is sharpened. Unfortunately this means that you get the negatives of an offensive-looking blade, but not the positive of a double edge. I think a Griptilian would have been more appropriate for what I was looking for.
