I just received my Anthem yesterday. I was excited when I saw the box and could barely contain myself preparing to open the shipping box. I stopped and looked at the Benchmade box inside and rubbed my fingers together in anticipation. Then I opened the Benchmade box and saw one of the most beautiful pieces of knife art I have ever seen. This is truly one of those; you have to see it and feel it to get the full appreciation experience.
The lines and the contours are fantastic. The billet titanium body is a fine work of art. The AXIS locking spring inside the billet handle is a great piece of work.
To say I have had some experience with the Benchmade knives in regard to their design, function, manufacture and quality is to realize that this 'Anthem' became Benchmade Knife #30 for me. Also, at 69 y/o this isn't 'puppy-love.' I was as giddy waiting for this knife and just as thrilled when my eyes were laid upon it, as I was with my 2750BKSN Auto Adamas, No. 1 in my list.
This Anthem is a brilliant and beautiful piece of work, as well as art.

I had viewed and read a few reviews of the Anthem before deciding to purchase. I have always wanted an integral knife, and I'm glad I waited until the Anthem came out. I could feel the quality just by picking up the knife and holding it in my hand. I looked for the places I always examine to determine the quality of the fit and finish. All of those were perfect. I couldn't find one flaw, and I looked closely! The size, weight, blade shape and steel are all perfect for EDC. I'm just not sure how much I will be willing to use this knife when it comes to work. Right now it's just a faithful pocket companion! I'm sure after I put the first scratch on the clip I won't be so shy about putting it to work. The action of the axis lock coupled with the bearings is really smooth. And the sound it produces on the open and close has become music to my ears. Well done, Benchmade! I was worried that I would feel disappointed by spending Sebenza money on a Benchmade axis lock EDC knife. But I have been pleasantly surprised. And right now all my Chris Reeve knives are in the drawer. It is the Anthem that never leaves my pocket! The 781 is the cream of the crop! Thanks for stepping up your game, Benchmade, and once again giving the knife world something to imitate and follow. CWF
