Ok, I have several OTF knives, the mini infidel, the regular infidel, and the HK series Benchmade did a while back (not sure if they still do). This knife is my favorite. I love the spine action, the action is quick and positive. I love the color, the only thing is the price. It’s really almost identical to my HK benchmade, but is priced about 75-100 more. I would still recommend it

I love the action, blade material, and weight of this knife. I could do without the slight blade play.

My first OTF and what a killer! I did mess up one night and stuck one of my fingers with mine, but I bet I had it coming. I trust this knife this knife as a self defense tool, and reserve it for that specifically!

For as long as I can remember, my father carried a small pocket knife with him every day of his life. He lovingly referred to it as his "chicken sticker". I can remember as a boy wanting so badly to carry my own -- and was excited when I was gifted my first spyderco some 20+ yrs ago. I later received my first benchmade knife as a groomsman's gift roughly six years ago. While the spyderco had served me well, I had never had in my hands such a well made, razor sharp blade that both looked good & actually cut something. Needless to say I was hooked.

I bought the phaeton last year & have used it as my every day carry since I got it. It's mechanical function is snappy & the lock out is solid. It took more than a year for the grit and grime gathered as my EDC before the closing mechanism sometimes failed -- not as a poor function of the knife, just due to the knife being used constantly and gathering dirt & lint in my pocket. Fortunately it was easy to return to the opening/closing mechanism to form just by pulling the knife out and closing it again. I've sent it in for some #lifesharp work & am looking forward to it's return. The Phaeton has a nice smooth handle which makes it easy to get in and out of your pocket. It's also small and discreet enough that it can fit just about anywhere & still be out of the way but easily accessible.

So far, the knife has proven itself to be very durable and versatile. I would highly recommend it as an EDC, but be sure to check and understand your state laws regarding OTF knives.

Picked this knife up at Smoky Mtn Knife Works in TN. Great EDC knife and has worked into my rotation. Love the spine fire and the blade locks up rock solid with no rearward movement at all. I got the earth handle and satin blade option.

This knife is incredible. I've wanted a single edge OTF for a while but I thought the Pagan looked lame with only a single edge. When I saw this knife was being released, I knew I had to have it. I waited and waffled on it for months before finally going into the shop and checking it out. I dropped my Infidel off for maintenance and drove home with a Phaeton. It's incredibly light and slim without sacrificing function or ruggedness. It is a bit spendy, but that's going to be the case with autos in general. Don't hesitate to buy this thing.

I got to play with this blade in Tennesse at smokes mountain knife shop and fell in love it would have came home with me but I was already buying the pegan, the 30th infidel, and the freek, so I couldn't bring it home but I'll have it soon, it's got a poppy action and handles well, if you like the infidel you'll like this too, it's a little boxy but I like it for concealment purposes.
