Being a Deputy Sheriff for many years has seen many times my knife came in handy. I bought my first Benchmade Auto about a year after joining the Department. I remember being amazed and pleased how sharp it was right out of the box. It was a semi-tanto, Eisenshiz(can't remember how to spell it)that always opened quickly and fluidly. With very few touch ups it remained razor sharp and I carried it faithfully. Finally, I passed this heirloom to my son, told him it's history and asked only that he respect it as a tool and keep it maintained, which he has. To replace it I bought the Bedlam Scimitar. It also came razor sharp from the box and functions flawlessly. I fully expect it to carry on being the dependable tool it's predecessor was and will be the last Benchmade I purchase. Thank you, Benchmade for making a product that I carried for years with never a doubt that when I needed it, for whatever the job, it would not let me down.

I am heavily into knives, have been all my life have & have owned many brands, and as I have matured the quality of my knife that I carry everyday has improved. The bedlam knife is by far the best knife I have ever known as a folder I own 3 Benchmade Knives my auto Stryker was first after having been so pleased with my auto Stryker 30 days later I purchased for my wife an emissary. I require that she has a knife of the highest quality, reliability, easy of use. She's not used to carrying knives so it has to be easy for her. 2 weeks later I purchased a plain Edge bedlam and I could not be happier with it unlike my Axis which is dedicated to a right hand thumb to push the button, and has very good blade geometry, but the bedlam is ambidextrous and I love the blade geometry very deep carry clip so I can use either left or right pocket for a left or right hand use incredibly Sharp very fine point and it comes down to it I would trust my life to the blade. When you're tired of playing with throw away knives and ready to move up to the highest quality everyday carry folder it's time to consider putting up the money to buy a Benchmade.

I absolutely love this knife, and love Benchmade. I've had 2 folders, this was my first automatic, and have The Infidel on the way. All my Benchmade knives are extremely well build and hold an edge well. They have a "wow factor" that really turns heads, especially the Bedlam Automatic. The only thing I wish was different is the interstate shipping laws for automatics. I have to pay to get this sharpened when the factory offers it as a free service. My state allows automatic knives, but I am unable to take advantage of a wonderful service because I'm not in law enforcement or the military. That being said, if you're a cop, this is the all around perfect knife. If you're a gun toting law abiding civilian, find a good knife shop locally. Either way, you won't go wrong with this knife.

I`ve owned this knife for the past 3 years and it has yet to fail be in multiple situation it was in all likelihood never intended for, after all these years it still takes a shaving edge all that's worse for wear is the paint job. Works well as an impromptu window breaker, door key, and can opener

Read all the reviews and watched all the YouTube videos about this knife but until I actually had it in my hands did I realize how unique this knife is. The weight, the balance, the fit and finish, the sweeping lines of the blade and handle are the things that make this knife so special. The Auto Axis lock is buttery smooth and the lock up of the blade is flawless. I honestly cannot find a single fault with this knife.

I have the Automatic version of this knife. It has been a work horse for me. I use it at work most everyday as well as out in the back country. The knife opens easily. The handle is solid with a good grip. Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a solid knife.

I use this as my EDC, and it has never failed. The lock is flawless. The action is far beyond the competition. My brother brags on his preferred brand, but admitted that this was truly far beyond that. Benchmade continues to be worth the premium.

The longer grip of the knife allows for both a close and long range forward grip. Depending on the situation the user can choose which to deploy. The hooking ability of the up swept blade lends itself to hooking techniques while retaining the ability to deliver devastating outward cuts in reverse grip. The tip of the blade lies right under the thumb when placed on the ramp, and the profile of the edge is actually identical to that of the kabar fighting knife (check for yourself). The relief on the spine gives the illusion the blade is sharply up swept but in fact its only slightly so. The excellent sculpted g10 scales grab the hand but not the fabric, something I wish more manufacturers understood, and deploys quick and smooth. The lock up and factory edge are excellent as I've come to expect from Benchmade. The long range ability and grip options combined with a made in the USA product make the Bedlam an excellent defensive choice for armed professionals and responsible citizens.

I've owned two of these knives in the last 3 years. I love everything about the handle, the blade, the lock... I've Lost both knives because the pocket clip is several orders of magnitude lower in quality than the rest of the knife. Within a month of purchase I had to start removing the pocket clip, bending it back into shape before reattaching it to get enough tension so it would actually stay in my pocket. Please fix this problem!
