This is my first Benchmade. Before I bought this knife I was looking for a knife that was simple looking, but will last long enough for me to pass down to my children.
I've had it for several months now and currently, I believe that this will last quite a while. The handle is comfortable and has a very rigid feel to it. There is the most minuscule amount of play between the blade and the handle, So small in fact, that its barely worth mentioning.
I've been using this knife as a utility knife, and so far nothing has become loose. It is showing a little bit of wear with the pocket clip and the blade coat, but it almost makes it have a cooler look to it.
The Blade is made from D2 steel (Air hardened) which is the same kind of steel that was developed to cut normal steel which means It doesn't dull very quickly and, If i'm right I've only had it sharpened twice so far. Over all it's a great Knife. I wish it had the Benchmade logo, but anyone who knows Bbenchmade will know that HK is a Benchmade knife. I highly suggest this knife to anyone looking for a simple yet reliable knife that will last a long time for a not-too-expensive price.
This is my first Benchmade knife and it's also my Axis lock knife, (I don't own any knockoffs versions to have an impression) and when I received this knife it put some great enjoyment in me, and now that I will not only be purchasing another H&K Axis in the Clip point style I will be buying many Benchmades to come. Now for the review. The Axis lock will be quite stiff when first arriving but you can progressively soften it buy using "flipping" it open and then closing it, G10: The G10 has decent grip it's definitely not the best but ti's good, Blade: The blade came quite sharp for a factory edge, I accidentally shaved a layer of my finger(print) off when breaking the lock in also cut myself doing so but it's fine (my mistakes), Coating: Simple Black coating durable etc only complaint is it can show oil from your fingers,Clip: It's not the deepest carry there is a good 1/2 Inch (12mm) sticking out but you can always get a different clip if you want. The stock is quite nice it's thick, and wide while being a simple design with only the H&K logo stamped? into the clip, Tanto styling: It's just your standard tanto style blade nothing different, blade thickness and jimping: The Blade thickness is quite nice and thick you'll have no problem when it comes to the thickness, as for the jimping, It's the nicest jimping I've had on a knife, it's deep and rounded unlike other brands which are more of a serrated grip so it won't be a problem if you have fragile skin, Action of movement: The action is quite nice it's very smooth for washers and also can be very quiet when opening or closing. Overall would I recommend this knife? Yes very much so buy your self 2 or more if you'd like. It's a great beater/EDC knife that you can depend on.
A rugged thick knife. Not too heavy and slim in your pocket. Fits a large hand well. Great quality steel that holds its edge through all tasks. I'm an EM on CVN-75 and I carry this knife with me every day and have done so for the past year.
