My wife and I paid a visit to a local Benchmade dealer. She caught me not paying attention and bought me this knife as a surprise.I like the knife but I couldn't give it 5 stars on quality because tbe blade was off centered and had back and forth blade play. It is on it's way to Oregon for repair.

I use this as my everyday knife and have for about a year. I keep mine oiled and sharp and it still works like new after that year of hard use (although, it has a few dings). The steel holds up better than any knife I have had before, but it is a pain to sharpen (although, sharipening is not a frequent task). I have found that the blade is slightly too thick for a knife of it's size. Also, the screws holding the clip to the handle/bolster need frequent tightening. (Locktite helped). Overall, this is a fantastic knife and it is obvious that real thought went into it's design. The closing action is especially clever, having a small bump which keeps you from slicing your fingers on accident. The construction and materials are excellent.

Bought this as a present for my dad. He likes the classic look with modern steel. So far he has no complaints. It's sharp, holds it's edge, and looks good too. He tends to be pretty rough with his knives, but I have no doubt that this one will hold up just fine.

Very disappointed. One of the scales broke while the knife was in my front pocket. One week to the day after receiving it. Its a beautiful knife. Probably the nicest I have. But a broken knife isnt going to "cut" it. I'll probably just stay with Buck.

The Small Summit Lake represents the absolute best of what you imagine a premium made traditional pocket knife would be. My only concern is is the 2 screws that attach the pocket clip are not flush or countersunk which causes them to catch on your pocket edge and makes it difficult to fully insert in or quickly remove from your pocket. If Benchmade addresses this 1 small issue this would be the ideal traditional premium pocket knife!
