I own 2 mini Infidels and 1 full size, I can attest to the quality of design/materials, ergonomics, and warranty service. Benchmade is by far the best production knife company and has stellar customer service. Now for the Infidels, living in the free State of Oregon with very relaxed knife laws I carry mine as a part of my EDC rotation, and use it at work on the regular. It is nice to have a knife that can be used one handed with gloves on plus looking good while doing it. If you are interested in owning an Infidel, don't overthink it and just buy one already.

I have long wanted a Infidel. However, they were unobtainable for civilian consumption in Iowa. Then the other day, 11/25/16, I was meandering thru my local retailers and happened by the knife displays. "Oh, you have Benchmade now?........is that a Infidel??!! Lemme see it."
And the rest is history. A few friends can't believe what I paid, but this is my third Benchmade blade and had no qualms ponying up.

Just bought my Infidel and I absolutely love it. I have used a Benchmade Stimulus for the last 20 years or so and have always been happy with it. The spring has broken a couple of times on me but I see springs as a wear item and expect it. Just drop it off at the Benchmade store and pick it back up in a couple of days repaired and sharpened, NO CHARGE. The Infidel I plan to use as a back-up self defense weapon. I love the dagger style blade with the bloodline down the middle.Hopefully I will never put it to it's intended use. A lot of money for a lot of knife!

I developed a Benchmade addiction last year and this is my latest purchase. I did thorough research on the Infidel comparing it to the other Benchmade OTF knives and the "OTHER Brand" of popular OTF knives. The Infidel felt the best in my hand and I prefer the side release. It might be a little pricey, but I definitely don't regret spending the money. I have an AUTO Adamas, AUTO Triage, Volli and Nakamura 484-1 and they all have a specific place in my EDC rotation.

My wife gave me this as a gift for our tenth anniversary. Since then it has deployed to Iraq, tons of field time, jumped out of airplanes and been used as my EDC and has never failed me. A home run for sure. I know it is a bit more expensive, but as with everything in life, you get what you pay for. I have mine services annually and it runs like a Swiss watch!

I bought this for my wife for personal protection. This is an amazing knife. I love the construction, the weight, and the feel of this knife. I would like to make a suggestion though. Every knife needs a lanyard hole in it. A knife that can be dropped or taken away easily is not worth using.

My wife bought me this knife about four years ago, I carried this knife every day for four years and used it relentlessly from opening boxes to prying open stuff you name it never failed ever until one day, it just stopped working, so I carried it to the local gun shop had him to check it out they opened it up and found a dime inside of it that was it. Moral of the story don't carry loose change in the same pocket you carry your knife in. Hehehe

My infidel is my everyday companion. I feel naked without the heft of its tempered steel at my side. Stays sharp, easy to use, easy to sharpen. the infidel has worked flawlessly for years with only regular maintenance of blowing it out with air and thats all. The only problem I have ever had was when I broke the belt clip when it got hung up on a product display I walked too close to. Not the knifes fault though. Was it worth the nearly $500 I paid? yes, emphatically yes! It takes a CWP to carry this thing and its worth it.

I have 3 Benchmade knives. This was the most expensive one I own and it was worth the price. It is sharp, durable, and has a "wow" factor to it that is hard to explain. This knife literally caught my attention and I couldn't even put it back down once I held it, so I bought it and took it home with me(Much to the chagrin of my wife, lol!). I don't know much about knives, but I've carried quite a few brands over the years and NONE have withstood the abuse I put my knives through except for the Benchmade knives. I admit, I will not be carrying my Infidel much, but I won't ever get rid of it either. To the folks at Benchmade, keep up the good work. You have a lifetime customer right here.

The Infidel that I purchased several years ago while I was in law enforcement stopped functioning properly after about a month of carrying it. The blade sticks when I try to extend or retract it. I read other reviews, both positive and negative, about the Infidel. Some of the negative reviewers seem to experience the same problem that I did even after returning theirs for repairs. I tried blowing it out and oiling it as others said they did but neither worked. I was so disappointed with the knife after spending so much money for it that I put it away and never bought another Benchmade. I own three others. Those three are great.(2 mini-reflex and 1 other that's now discontinued) Those styles I can speak about but in my opinion $475 would be better spent on any other style instead of the Infidel plus be a lot less expensive.

I have this Benchmade Infidel and some fakes. The only one that misfires is the Benchmade. I find that if I want to return it to be fixed, I either have to mail it to a dealer or lie about my reason for carrying one.I also understand from others that even if I did send it back, there is a good chance they would not fix it right. I really wanted to like this knife especially since it cost so much. I don't feel it would be right to pass it off to an unsuspecting stranger so I won't sell it. I'm not pleased with Benchmade knives.

The Infidel has been a house name since I can to possess it since I can relatively recall. At first only protection, next a multi use knife. This is one knife that to anyone can be a bit of an intimidator. Construction is sound, maintenace is easy, and sharpening is a breeze.i wpuld highly recomend this blda.

BLUF: After 8 yrs of daily carry I recommend this knife for it's quality, resilience, and wow factor.
I purchased this blade 8 yrs ago as a gift for myself based on Benchmade's reputation, and it's wow factor, but it has become so much more than that. It has been my daily carry both in and out of Marine Corps uniform for that time and it functions just as it did the day I got it.. It's price would probably encourage you to lock it away in a glass case, but mine is well worn and has never been treated like a princess. The black finish has faded and all the handle edges shine, but the blade extends and retracts with a flash, holds an edge, and does not have excessive side to side play (some play must be expected from a OTF due to the design, but a Benchmade is the tightest you can get. I never notice any play in daily use and had to check it just based on the comments from others in these reviews). It has seen the sand of numerous austere combat deployments and the wet of Southern training. What are my qualifiers, you ask? First, the blade edge will rust without care. I'm not talking about excessive care, but now and again it needs to be scrubbed and oiled, no biggie. Second, the mechanism needs to be periodically cleaned and lubed. Dirt, pocket lint, etc will get into the mechanism over time and slow/stop it's movement. For daily pocket carry this normally only entails applying some oil on the guide rails where the blade extends every now and again. If mine has gotten exposed to real dirt then I use an aerosol lube that evaporates like a hair clipper lube. This allows me to spray it in the blade opening and allow the excess and dirt to exit out the drain hole in the bottom. Lastly, it is an OTF dagger not a camp knife or a multitool, so that should be kept in mind with what you think you will use it for. I carry mine daily for defense but also use it like a utility knife, but there are times that another more robust blade might be better. In my mind it is a defensive blade that I can also use for basic living. If I was expecting significant daily blade work outside the design specs for a thin dagger I would carry another blade that would be thicker and larger (and probably cheaper and more expendable) to do that heavy duty grunt work.

This was an investment. My wife would panic if she found out I paid this, but I know knives and I know I wanted a knife I could trust. An infidel is quite unique among the many knives, which is a selling point, but I like to know I have backup from the company if I have issues. I really wanted a 940 and will surely get one, but I have many good folders. Until now, I had nothing like this.

Reading the other reviews tells me the blade can be affected by weather so I will keep this in mind. It remains to be seen how many miles can be placed on the opening mechanism, but knowing I can send it in for repair feels good. This ought to be the case at this price. The heft is nice, not being too light but yet not too bulky. The construction is solid and due to my other D2 blades, I know D2 is a great knife steel, but have patience when you sharpen it. As said, my biggest concern is the opening mechanism, as this opens or it doesn't. But I have faith in Benchmade and know they wouldn't do to themselves what Buck did with the BuckMaster years ago.

I am not sure this is everyday carry as it is tactical, but then, why not? A quality blade is a quality blade and I won't be lifting cars with it or digging up rocks. Don't abuse it and it should be just fine for a long time. Besides, I sincerely doubt an owner of this knife only owns this knife.

Owning this and a 940 would solidify a personal cutting inventory if you want to carry both. Keep in mind that The Infidel isn't for everyone, so know that having this means you have a singular, fascinating cutting tool made by a great company. Show it off. Brag about it. Take care of it. Eventually pass it on. I am holding it, playing with it and looking it over while writing this, and I can say that while I'm a bit dizzy for spending this much, I can't deny the smile I get when holding it and watching that pretty blade appear and disappear. Overall, I am happy with this and I'll care for it.

this is a good knife and i like it a lot. I bought the satin blade...but, i didn't realize that the D2 steel does not hold up to any moisture at all... i took fishing a couple times and wiped the blade off after, but the blade still started to rust within a couple weeks on the edges.... had i would've know this, I wouldve bought a black blade that has a little more corrosion resistance

I thought that I would never spend this much for a knife, but I had to have it. This is a killing tool. It's not a everyday knife.Absolutely perfect for the intended use. I love this knife, but I hope I don't have to use it.

I am currently on my third blade on my second Infidel. The Infidel is very aesthetically pleasing to the eye but with terrible design flaws that must be addressed in the future. Horizontal and or lateral movement within a few light uses of the tool at the base of the blade. Benchmade fixes problem but lasts long enough to butter and few pieces of bread, then back to the shop with the Infidel. Blade is very nice, holds an edge and durability of the blade is excellent. Owned the Infidel mini but sold it right after having to bring it back for repair within three weeks (21) days. Having been both assistant instructor as well as lead instructor in numerous edged weapons courses. Specializing in carry and quick deployment techniques as well as lethal strikes. The two sided spear blade is an amazingly lethal configuration. I'm a civilian now, stil carry my Infidel but it's a solid number 5 of 5 in order of deployment. If the unfortunate were to happen and I was forced to defend myself or others. Left and right hand would have an AFO 2 TANTO 50% serrated. In case of loss of either primary, would then cross draw my ADAMAS 375BK. Worst case scenario loss of weapon or weapons already deployed, due to multiple attackers and or having to throw your primary or secondary edge, only after deployment of my third AFO 2, then and only then would I use my Infidel to dispatch my attacker or attackers. I've been carrying Benchmade products since I can remember I am a huge fan, the Infidel is pretty to look at but so was my 5th ex-wife but I couldn't trust her either. ...

Mini Infidel Super awesome tool. Everyone that encounters this tool, again is in awe. Benchmade all the way. Like everything else that is used in harsh environments it must be cleaned and well oiled to maximize functionality. Thanks to customer service, sales, and the men & woman that make it happen over there.

While I know Benchmade knives to be some of the very best, with customer service that ranks number one in my book, the Infidel is a huge disappointment. The blade quickly becomes loose and Benchmade needs to really improve on this item.

So out of all the benchmades I own, this one troubles me the most, for 400 bucks you wouldn't think that you would have to send it in every couple of months because the blade comes loose and jiggly, or the spring gets weak and won't deploy the blade every time reliably, it's geared toward military and police however u couldn't see it serving a purpose for armed forces any where that has adverse conditions such as humidity, sand, rain, or water, hate writing a bad review but this blade I just sent back got it refinished and retired it to a safe queen because it became too troublesome.
