So let's talk price first. I held this knife in the store. It is a functional, durable, work of beauty. I had to ask. "How much?" I had held and own some very expensive knives. I have a Bowie knife with a Damascus 9 inch blade with mammoth ivory handle. His response, "Well that is expensive." as I knew it would be and I indicated such. He replied, "that is $800.00", and I literally laughed. "You sir and I have different definitions of expensive."

Damasteel is fairly new to me. I've read the blogs, and reviews. I understand the metallurgy. I know what the web says, but until you hold it in your hand, you don't really know. It is art, and tool all in one. The Loki pattern is unique, and my #143 has a beautiful version of it.

The carbon fiber, not my first choice, but here it is perfect, inlayed with Mother of Pearl, is a subtle and beautiful statement. The diamond dust coating is gorgeous to behold, and touch.

My last EDC was the Benchmade 484 with an M390 blade. Still a fantastic knife. It fit my hand, it became, after the proper amount of work, an extension of my hand.

Holding the Foray felt like it belonged in my hand the moment I held it. No working it out. No getting used to it. No break in period. It just fit, and I knew I had found a knife I would be carrying for a very long time.

I have knife number #143. I carry it with me everywhere I go. I am very lucky to have found such a profoundly well built knife.

thank you
