Hollowground blades are
thinner and therefore yield a
sharper cutting edge. Both
versions of the new 550HG
and 555HG will still maintain
the current 154CM stainless
blade steel. Both the 550HG
and 555HG will preserve all
of their previous attributes
such as blade lengths (3.40”
and 2.91” respectively), handle
materials (glass fill Noryl GTX®
and Color Valox® respectively),
inner liners (both with double
410 stainless steel), and
Benchmade exclusive AXIS®
locking mechanisms.
Both the 550HG Griptilian and
555HG Mini-Griptilian will also
be available in a wide variety
of colors that include, but are
not limited to, black, olive
drab, blue, yellow, Skyline®
camouflage, sand, and trainer
red. Within these color
categories Benchmade offers
different blade options from
satin to BK black coated and
plain edge to partial serrations.
With these added upgrades
Benchmade gives even more
reason to own one of the most
popular folding knives on the
market. Starting at $90*, the
prices were also held constant
so you won’t have to worry
about reaching deeper in your
pocket in order to own one.
