I can't say enough great things about the Boost 590SBK. The ergonomics alone are far superior to most other knives i've carried in the past. The S30V steel is very tough and has excellent blade retention. The assisted action is very smooth and opens with little effort. Once again Benchmade has knocked it out of the park. I'm sold on Benchmade knives and have been a loyal customer for about 2 years. Benchmade for life!

I just purchase the Boost assisted opening blade and its fast becoming my best friend. Its sort of replaced or assisted another Benchmade knife that I've had for over 7 years. Its been in my pocket since. The blade on the Boost is so sharp that I cut myself closing it when I first received it. These knives are not for amateurs, they are professional grade. They are built for the long haul. If you give it a little attention once in awhile it can be willed to your survivors when you die. I purchased another knife just to have one a little bigger than the first one. I'm very glad I did. I am extremely satisfied with the Benchmade quality and workmanship. None better.

i bought this knife a few months ago, and i love it, fits in my and perfectly, and the blade strength is amazing, but and I'm not sure if this is a new model, or its a new open assist design or what ever, but the blade won't stay closed and it won't open all the way, but I'm happy to say that benchmade has it, and they are correcting the problem in pure benchmade fashion.they are gonna repair it and sharpen it. under normal use the whole mechanism failed to the point where the knife is unusable, and i hope thats not a sign of things to come cause i really like this company, and would the to own a knife made by someone else, this is my 6th folding knife by them, and my third assisted knife by them and this is the first problem I've had. otherwise id still recommend benchmade cause of their quality and customer service! they stand behind their products 100% and thats rare these days.

I have been an avid everyday carry knife user for the last couple of decades. I have never really gone off 'the deep end' to purchase a higher grade, quality knife for everyday carry. I figured, if I use it for everyday common tasks and work related tasks, I did not want to spend $100+ on a knife for this purpose. For the last 4 years I have been using a knife made by that other company that I shelled out about $60. The build quality has always seemed slightly sub-par while the function seemed adequate at best. Lately I have been looking at Benchmade knives after being introduced to the brand by an ex-coworker roughly 10 years ago. After looking in a local cutlery shop in Petaluma, CA I was again fascinated and taken by the build quality of Benchmade knives. After leaving the shop I poured over the 2017 catalog for several hours trying to decide which knife suited my needs as well as justifying the expense. A few weeks later returning to the shop I decided on the 590 Boost for several reasons. The first reason being the beautiful build quality and seemingly excellent durability. The durability shall be tested as time goes on. I work as a telecom installer, so this 590 Boost will definitely be put to the test in retaining its edge cutting various materials such as cable jackets, zip ties to small gauge copper wire. Comfort in use is another reason. It took a while in deciding on the last knife finding one that fits comfortably in my hands while going through its daily use. Though the knife I have been using always felt just a tad too small, usable, but not entirely comfortable. I admit to owning the 590 Boost for a few hours. But I have been holding and working in the assisted-opening mechanism dozens of times getting a feel for the knife and how it functions in my hands. So far I am loving everything about this knife. From the weight/size ratio, how balanced the knife feels in my hands and how smooth and efficient the assisted-opening mechanism functions. When the 590 Boost is open and locked, there is zero play between the blade and the handle assembly. Unlike the previous knife I have been using which suffered from a really lame wiggle in the blade from day one of ownership. I do not know why I waited so long to purchase a Benchmade knife. Stoked to own first production run 829/1000.
