I’ve had this for about a year and the only maintenance I’ve had to do is slightly tightening main axis screw a few times, cleaning, and sharpening. I’m a huge fan of the axis lock and S30V steel. Great back up pocket knife.

I purchased this the first year they introduced the Hunt line. So I have a few years using the knife as a hunting knife and as an EDC at times. After a few years of use a spring in the axis lock broke. I contacted customer support and it was repaired, inspected and returned in less than 10 days. No questions or hassles. I don't want to give the idea that the locks are weak. I have a 710 H&W I've had for over a decade, D2 steel and heavy work load with absolutely no problems with the lock. Things just happen sometimes. So the Grizzly Creek is solidly constructed with S30v premium steel, smooth action and quality scales. Like most Benchmade knives (and I own a few) it's solid American workmanship by a company that stands behind their products completely. You can buy this knife with confidence and assurance. I highly recommend it.

I have a custom laser engraved Grizzly Creek that my daughter bought for me a few years ago and it has never worked properly. Every time I use it to gut an animal it becomes very stiff and hard to use, even after all the blood is washed off of it. This lasts for about a week. It is like the wood swells up from the blood or water and pinches the knife blade. This is not a very good hunting knife or design. My folding pocket knife turns into a fixed blade knife with no sheath about 10 minutes into using it and stays that way for a week.

I bought the Grizzly Creek from my local knife store about a year and a half ago now. It immediately caught my eye, as it's easily one of the most attractive folding knives on the market (the pictures just can't do it justice). A definite selling feature for the knife, aside from the style and dependable S30V steel blade, was the internal gut hook. I had been looking for a decent knife with this feature, but was never too keen on carrying a fixed blade. I've used the hook for anything and everything, from gutting and cleaning to opening packages at work, and it's managed to hold a decent edge. The blade profile, ergonomics of the knife, and overall feel are excellent. When I first purchased the knife, I was worried about the wood grips being damaged, but this has proven to be a hollow worry, as even through the love and abuse I've shown it, the grips look almost factory perfect. For anyone interested, the grips also engrave rather nicely as I had my eagle scout insignia engraved into one side and it looks excellent. I honestly haven't run into a single issue with this knife and happily recommend it.

I've had this knife for 4 months and I'm not very impressed. First, the blade came to me with a HUGE burr on the belly and the screws are loose and too long. I took it out of my pocket today and saw that a peice of the scale where the pivot for the gut hook is missing and is now sharp. Good idea poor execution.

This knife is super sharp and has an incredibly smooth action. I do have two problem though with it. 1) when in my pocket the thumb nub faces down vs up so when I pull the knife out of my pocket it can catch thereby exposing a very sharp knife. I have cut my finger once when not aware of the problem. 2) A sign of a superior quality knife assembly is in the amount of wiggle in the blade. My benchmade and boker (both new) have some back and forth play but my 12+ year old Spyderco has none.

Nonetheless I do really like my super sharp, super smooth Grizzly Creek and give it two bandaged thumbs up.

I decided to purchase the Grizzy Creek based on the function (fold-out gut hook), quality and Benchmade reputation. I was not disappointed. I immediately realized how sharp the blade actually was just from zipping through paper and my finger. NOTE: Don't try and "flip close" the blade if your finger is in the way. You know a blade is sharp when you barely feel the cut and until you see the blood start. Very clean cut by the way. The good news is that it worked just was well on the whitetails. The gut hook worked better than others I've tried and I really like that you can use it independent of the blade. It is much easier to use when the blade can be folded away. The blade also made quick work of skinning. Very pleased with the performance and look of this knife.

This is my third Benchmade product and I could not be happier. I went to a gun store and when I saw this knife I knew I had to have it. My first Benchmade was a simple pocket knife and was still working after 2 years, my second one got stolen unfortunately but still was awesome. And not this one. I love the feeling. It definitely holds an edge and I can shave my beard with it literally. Simply awesome, I will soon be buying more from Benchmade.

I purchased this knife to gut and skin whitetail deer. I could not be happier! This knife is very sharp and holds an edge. The blade size and gut hook are perfect for deer sized game. The knife is well built and you can tell when handling this knife there is no blade slop and the locking mechanism is trusty. The diamond wood is esthetically pleasing and very easy to keep clean. This will not be my last Bench Made Knife!!
