About the product
Saibu™, 細部, Japanese for details. The latest Seiichi Nakamura collaboration is the embodiment of the word. Windows within the handle, accented with Cocobolo wood, trick your eye at every angle. A bamboo-styled, metal backspacer catches and reflects light. The satin finished, high-ground, 20CV blade flows effortlessly into the handle, topped off with matched Cocobolo accented thumb studs. This knife is a showcase piece worthy of even the most discerning pocket.

This is my second and by far favorite benchmade of the two. The other is the mini monolock which is heavy and took time to find a decent deep carry clip, which benchmade still hasn't taken the time to make. The Japanese name for details, I find this knife to be appropriately named, as I am a very detail oriented person and am very much pleased by every aspect of this flawless piece of art. Right down to the drop point blade, which is shaped in a way to provide enough steel for a lifetime of sharpening and edge removal. The mini deep carry clip is absolutely perfect and the overall size of the knife and proportion of its components are perfect in my eyes. I'm glad that I decided not to ponder on whether or not to buy this for any longer than I had, as my blade was marked "first production 1052/1200."

Benchmade did it again with a great every day carry knife. Not only is it a great knife, it is a work of art. Is the knife expensive? Yes it is. Is the knife a great value and impeccable quality? Yes it is. You get what you pay for. Besides I own 4 Benchmade knives and they stand behind their products and will do whatever it takes to make it right if there is an issue. I might mention, the company store is a very dangerous place to go with your wallet as there are so many “Nice” things to buy.

I can't wait to see this knife live in person. Great looking specs. Sorry that I have to go to a competitive website to see the details, though... blade length, L/R carry, thickness etc.

This knife is sweet and the detail that goes into it is incredible. The stone washed 20CV blade gives it a great touch. The Axis lock out of the package is a little stiff but after about a few dozen openings of the knife it loosens right up. This knife will be my EDC for a long time!

I love the look and size of this knife. I've only had it 2 days and my thumb and forefinger are sore because the Axis Lock on this knife sticks like crazy. It can be extremely difficult to release the lock at times. Also, the axis lock feels rough when moving, even if it doesn't stick, it feels like it has sand in it or something. The knobs/studs for the lock are small and sharp. I have a mini crooked river that I love, the Axis Lock on my MCR is as smooth as silk. Overall, I like this knife, but I am really disappointed in how the Axis Lock feels. Pros: Love the blade shape and steel, knife arrived super sharp, Very interesting design, great pocket clip, blade is centered, f&f are very good. Cons: Axis lock is rough, sticks, studs are sharp and small.

I've only had this knife for a few hours, but I have to say that this easily became my favorite Benchmade knife and my new favorite EDC. It feels so good in the hand. The "windows" or cutouts on the scales not only make the knife look beautiful, but they also help in adding grippiness to it. This is my first full flat grind style knife and it looks totally awesome. The thumbstuds are placed in such a way that they are completely out of the slicing portion of the blade and in no way will they get in the way when sharpening it. The handle feels about the same size and weight in the hand as the Mini Griptilian. Benchmade, you continue to amaze me with your impressively designed knives...keep it up.
