    Awesome construction and design
Love the 51, however it the past few years I've noticed their process for the 51 go up, but their craftsmanship has fallen. They dont even crown the back of the blade anymore, and sometimes I think the back edge was the blade and I cut myself. They used to do an awesome job 3 or 4 years back when the knife cost in the 200s. When I ask them to smooth over the back of the blade, they only buff it which dosent do anything but polish. They charge 350 dollars now for:
    4 pieces of plastic
    4 species of titanium liners
    1 blade
    Screws, spacers, tangs and latch.
Imo it's not worth it for the price point now with how much quality has degraded over time. But if you can pick up one for say half the price, it is an awesome starter bali with EDC features like a clip.

It's good but could be better for the price
I have had my 51 for about eight months and have used it as my edc since then. Overall it's been a good knife and a great flipper. I do have a couple complaints though, one of the screws fell out within the first couple months, which I replaced with flytanium screwset so at the end of the day it's fine but that shouldn't have happened in the first place. Another complaint is the rust/patina. I live in a humid area and I have to oil the blade pretty much every other day. If they had a stainless steel variety it would be perfect. If you live in a humid area, get the black finish, and locktight your screws!

    Great first Bali
Got a Morpho as a gift for my 18th birthday. It is quality made, easy to maintain, and it is great for everyday use. Great first Bali to learn with.

    Best knife ever made
I had a morpho 32 for 7 years that fell out of my fishing pack. It was the best knife I’d ever had. Totally breaks my heart they don’t make it anymore, I’d do anything for another one

Bought this knife for $335 as of September 19th 2019. An often hefty price for something so light. I do love the look of this bali and I LOVE the spring latch. This latch will spring open from tension against the liner. When in the open position, the latch will stay in place so the handles stay locked together. VERY useful for flipping and utility all in one package. The best part is, the latch will NOT come in contact with the other handle or even the blade when flipping.
Some cons I do have tho is quality. For 335 dollars I can pay almost half my rent with, Seems unreasonable for this knife for the weight and plastic handles. I probably paid 100 just for the g10 plastic. For the price, atleast throw in a sheath or have some options for custom liners other than blue. Just a little extra to put in since I'm paying so much.
Conclusion: if you have the money saved up, get it!! Look for some retailer stores that may have it if you dont want to pay in full like I did. They may have store deals or discounts. Love benchmade products and the customer service is ALWAYS on points exceeding my expectations each time I pay a visit. Thanks benchmade and stay looking sharp ;)

    Anazing
I had the good luck to aquire a morpho 32 in a trade and immediately was hooked on it and quickly realized that an extra inch of handle would make this anazing, which the 51 is. These are in a class all their own and Benchmade has it perfected. If you're looking and on the fence, drop right down and get it, you will soon become inseparable from flipping it. And if you can find a 32, jump on it also amazing!

    Awesome
I am so glad I finally bought 9ne if these, for me the weight is perfect, from carry to flipping although I understand how a but more weight makes some tricks beyter, my 1st Bali was a morpho 32 and having gotten very adept at using it I knew a tad more weight and 2" more in length would really add to the ability to do tricks and it indeed does. Fast becoming my favorite knife out of a very large collection. Very well built, great materials and awesome appearance.

Lightweight and easy to flip but not very sharp
I got my 51 with a text lasermark and an image lasermark. While both lasermarks came out pretty well, it would've been nice to have been able to rotate or place the image/text where I wanted, similar to how Benchmade's custom knife GUI allows.

I had watched and read several reviews on the 51 before purchasing. The summary I got from these other reviews was that Benchmade focuses on the 51 being an EDC as opposed to prioritizing flipping. What I get from this is that the blade will be very sharp (as mentioned in several reviews, out of the box razor sharp) and that it will stay sharp for a long time, especially considering the steel type (D2 Tool Steel). However it has come to my disappointment that it is one of my least sharpened knives, albeit I don't have many knives... yet. The tip is fairly sharp and towards the top about half an inch is decently sharp. Everywhere passed the half-inch part at the top, down to the handle, is fairly dull. The lower section won't even cut paper unless you're at a very specific angle and you really press it. I am unsure if me ordering it with lasermarking was the cause of them not quality controlling the sharpness of what I thought would work out an EDC.

As for the flipping, it is not as bad as some expert flippers make it out to be. Granted I have small hands compared to the average person so perhaps it just fits me better than the average person. I have heard from several people that the supreme light weight is a disadvantage to how this flips and I can see that here and there but overall I prefer the lightweight a lot. While the blade isn't very sharp, I have still cut myself a couple of times from flipping, primarily from the point most of the time. Another bright side of the lightweight-ness, I accidentally ricocheted the sharp end of the blade off of one of my knuckles and it didn't cut that deep due to less force from less mass and on top of the not very sharp blade.

There is minimal handle tolerance from the safe handle and a decent amount from the bite handle but I don't find it to be an issue at all. A nice EDC touch that they added is that you can lock the handles when the blade is out with the latch and it won't spring out if you press the handles together, only when the blade is out. Latch is very easy to release from pressing the handles together when the blade is concealed. Pocket clip is pretty useful considering I have to open carry in public and it comes in a nice pale steel blue which compliments the black handles/blue liners nicely. I've dropped the blade a couple of times from flipping and there is no noticeable wear on the handles which is nice.

Overall as a balisong the 51 Morpho is a very nice treat to have without destroying your wallet, is an excellent flipper for my small hands with it's light weight, but I do wish it was significantly sharper than how it came. Sending it in for LifeSharp will make me sad for 2-3 weeks because then I won't be able to flip it during that period... (Also am mildly scared of losing it because it's custom and I've had several bad experiences with UPS which Benchmade seems to only use)

    Good choice
Upon unboxing the latch flicks around when flipping and it’s all you can hear. After some time and oil the latch quiets down and the sound is phenomenal. Very pleasing, it sounds much like a BRS replicant at a fraction of the price. The knife flips very well but the handles are a touch short for my liking so the balance is off. This knife makes roll overs a bit tough with the light handles so if you’re a beginner I wouldn’t advise this knife, but Ariels are very easy to learn for the same reason. This knife is comfortable to carry so if you’re looking for a new EDC I absolutely recommend it but if a beginner is reading this looking to flip at home I would look at the 40s and 60s
