You get what you pay for
Bought from here in 2014 and carrying it since. Went with me on many trips in the military and as a contractor. It is expensive but it is a great knife. The blade is still sharp and it works fast. My knife is pretty smooth from years of carrying it but the writing on clip is still perfect and the engraving on the blade is good to go. It shows some signs of wear but not as much as you would expect for the time I have had it. Also know what you are getting, its an OTF meaning its not going to be as solid as a fixed blade. Secondly don't be one these ******** on here bad mouthing it because it cant stab through 2x4 wood. It is not a screwdriver or a pry-bar. Take care of it and it will take care of you.

some people expect way too much??
I had ordered one of these being a long automatic knife guru.. born in 84 just my area i had got my hands on my first "side flip" stelitto when I was about 13. Carried it anytime i wasnt going to school. It was just a cool factor fishing with freinds as bait knife or cut a line free/some rope... After ordering this model I got reading reveiws but in person... I think naming it "the infidel" leaned to a market ploy and set it up for bad reveiws on how "strong" or "deadly" this knife should be. Its a mechanism not an axe! Just my day 1 review of it i only give 4 stars on performance because out of the box it was weak and slow.. first retract didnt go... but of all times we are in a polar vortex where we went from 70s to 36 in 24 hours. Eager to try it out getting home and it failing first cycle it was like holding an ice cube.. so i just set it aside watched a boxing match then tried again... worked perfect but sluggish... lubed it up with some CLP let it soak and drain out and its fiesty now! Ill give it a 5 star on performance after some time, if cold really doesnt effect it...
Maybe mine just sat dry too long. Id lean on a 5 though.
For quality 5 stars on the build. tip and edge as far as a knife goes... are sharp and mean as the devil! Value 5 stars... lol.. go build your own automatic if you want to complain on price.
Again Read some bad reveiws here and its not an axe/made for forged in fire abuse tests... just the marketing name. if you think this is something thats sand freindly, the ultimate self defense killing machine... you are going to be disappointed.

    Best Damn Knife
Purchased this knife 2 years ago. It was love at first sight. One of the best features is the lifetime sharpening. I have sent it to benchmade twice to get sharpened and both times it came back quickly and functioning like I had just purchased it. They don’t just sharpen it, they also clean and lube it. Love this knife and manufacturer. They really stand by their products. I use this every day.

Great knife, deep carry, discontinued model
I was one of the lucky ones to purchase mine early in the introduction of this knife. I went to the benchmade factory store and found the Black blade single edge with s30v blade metal. I absolutely love this knife. Great deployment and function, felt like a thicker blade than the double edge dagger version. I use this knife for EDC and work. The handle grip scales have started to soften on the edges of the front side from the aluminum wearing from coming in and out of my pocket and handling it so much, but the titanium trigger almost 100% like day 1. Good balance and easy deployment. The service at bench made is excellent and never had an issue sending it in or dropping it off for sharpening or a tune up. Excellent knife, worth every penny.

    THANK YOU AGAIN BENCHMADE!

    I can’t trust it
I’ve had this knife for a week. The first day was amazing! Fired and retracted as it should locking in both directions. Day two comes along and has completely eliminated any trust I had in this knife. It fails to lock on deployment and retraction now. I called customer service and was informed that firing and retracting the knife multiple times each time it’s handled would cause failure...???? Pretty sure that was a horrible excuse for a faulty or weak spring. I was told to drop a couple drops of gun oil at the base of the deployed blade and through the hole at the bottom. This did nothing. The only way this thing locks is if you swing your arm in a whipping motion while firing it. You have zero chance of it retracting and locking if the blade is fighting any gravity. $400+ knife? My 150 RavenCrest has never failed in the past 3 years. Maybe benchmade should take a note or two. Very disappointed.

    Amazing for a few months
I’ve had this knife for a few months now and when I first got it my friend showed me his that would no longer fully extend or retract under its own power. I assumed it was just an earlier model. Mine suffers from the same issues now. I’ve never abused it, but just used as an EDC. Boxes, line, no prying. I’m going to send it in soon and I’ll post a follow-up. I don’t trust it any longer as an EDC.
