I bought the Infidel when I was on my last deployment in 2010. I'll admit that although I've had a few Benchmade knives prior, I bought this one for the cool factor. However, it's been a great knife. I carry it daily and it's done everything from open boxes to cutting food. It holds a great edge and with the double-sided blade, it's essentially two knives in one. The initial price is a little high, but with the lifetime warranty and Eversharp system, I get it refreshed a couple times a year, so that justified my initial investment.

This is by far one of the best if not the best knife I own. I currently own 4 Benchmade knives and this surpasses them all. The fit and finish is amazing. I have only had a few misfires where the spring did not eject the knife with enough force. Either way you can just flick the knife out which sets it back to normal. The only complaint I have is that when in your pocket a dime or a penny could get lodged in where the blade is causing it to jam. But if you shake it enough it will come out eventually. I only mention these couple bugaboos because I want to give the most honest review. Otherwise everything about this knife to fit, finish and function is flawless. Now if they would only sell it for $200, I would buy 3 more.

I just purchased this knife from Ann Arbor Arms. Buy one Benchmade and get 1/2 off the other one. I took them up on the offer and purchased 2 knives. So far my favorite is the Infidel. I am a retired military and former LEO. I now have Poly Neuropathy in my hands and it is hard to open one of the folders. When the manager sapoke with me ( he knew about my hands) he advised me to look at the automatics since I waS eligible. I checked out a lot of what he had and settled on the Infidel. It is a great knife. I am very glad I purchased it. It makes it so much easier to use. Thank you Benchmade.

I have absolute beaten my infidel to death. It still looks like brand new. Still functions like a Swiss watch.

The INFIDEL!!!! The best OTF knife! Yes, it is my everyday carry, I also sometimes carry a fixed blade as well. I own 3 of these, one is my deployment blade and has more time in battle and deployments than some of my troops. I keep one still NIB just in case! And I have a Mini Infidel. My deployment blade has been through hell, and will be needing some TLC from Benchmade soon, but that's the price you pay for the blade, and Benchmade will do that for you, so its a win no matter what! I have not one complaint about this knife, it does what it was made to do, and it is worth every penny!

Absolutely the most loved knife I have ever owned, and I have quite a few. Purchased for use in military service when bad situations might dictate the use of only one hand, but quickly became my EDC. Every aspect of this knife makes people say "wow". A little pricey on the initial purchase, but still the best money I've ever spent on a knife. After 4 years of every day carry/use, two deployments and more abuse than I would like to admit, I finally lost a screw from the handle. Not a problem though because of the lifesharp program, it will be repaired, tuned and sharpened free of charge. Buy one if you can and you won't regret it.

The reason it won't fully open with a dish towel in front of it? That's how it's designed! Simply snap it with a flick of your hand and it will lock open.
Safety. You would NOT want it otherwise or it might open in your front pocket with the result being you would sing soprano or perhaps pierce your femoral artery

Benchmade? Pay for quality and you only cry once. Nuff said
This is now my EDC self defense knife. It's a purpose built knife. It came sharper in the box than any knife I've purchased with one exception, a hand forged fixed blade tactical. But it was "as sharp". Action works perfectly. Very balanced in the hand. Fearsome weapon. Obviously not an all around survival blade unless you're talking survival in the street.
As the saying goes, "Don't bring a gun to a knife fight." This is "that knife." I don't know how another OTF could be better than the Infidel.

I lost one on my last deployment, but I miss it every day. The price is a little steep, but I found it to be well worth it. The quality is what you expect from Benchmade. This thing had been dropped more times than I can remember, and even ran over at one point, and it still kept going.

Recently bought my 2nd infidel (first one lost to a pawn shop incident) I can tell you confidently it's worth every penny. The picture above doesn't really do it justice, the knife is just fun to simply stare at. Its craftsmanship is very apparent to be top tier, I especially love the slight raise in the backplate of the knife. The metal that it's made of was left textured in some way that's hard to describe but it feels good in your hand. The trigger is firm and solid and when the blade fires there's a reassuring impact to know that it has locked in place. The snap it produces is quite loud but you won't mind one bit. 10/10 knife if you can afford you won't miss your money for a second (unless you pawn it...).
