I have owned this knife for six months, I use it to open boxes, and as my daily self-defense carry knife, it is super sharp and intimidating. The form factor is almost indescribable. It fits in your hand and feels like an extension of your arm, and it is convenient for a self-defense knife, it is razor sharp and works flawlessly for an automatic knife, this is definitely a lifetime knife.

i got this as a gift from my grandfather right before i left for bootcamp, which was the biggest tease considering it was the day before i left. The action is ridiculously solid and offers very little play in the blade (even 8 months of cutting things and just general actuating). The mechanism is unique to other OTF knives (even for the same $500 price tag) where that if the blade meets too much resistance and jumps off track that resetting it does not require any tension on the spring, but simply just pull the blade out until it clicks (virtually effortlessly). the only real issue i have with this knife is the edge bevel on the reverse of the blade; its very shallow (less than 1/32"). My only issue with that is it makes sharpening the blade difficult and its challenging to get the correct bevel to achieve a razor sharp edge properly, however it is still manageable.

id like to see more color options to make it at least semi unique. and maybe a serrated blade option

overall, this is the best automatic knife ive ever owned and used. ill never get rid of it and benchmade has a customer for life.

I've carried a lot of knives over the years but the Infidel "deep carry" clip is surprisingly comfortable, to the point I've caught myself forgetting I was carrying it in the "appendix carry" position. I've had a few different OTF knives and played with many others, but my 10 yr anniversary Infidel is with me more than any other single blade I own. I know it isn't as strong as an Axis based system - if I'm going to abuse a blade, I'll grab my old Griptilian. Ultimately nothing else give the satisfaction of the blade magically appearing/disappearing with the distinct mechanical action of the Infidel. Other men look at the knife with awe. They realize they have lost the contest of "most superior gadgets" on the front end when you flick the switch. You only live once... while the price is steep, the quality remains after the sting is over.

I am active duty military (22yrs) and purchased this knife to carry. A week after it arrived the internals exploded. I used it to cut a couple pieces of line and open up a few boxes. It wasn't abused by any means. I am unsure exactly what happened as I sent the knife in over a month ago and still do not have it back. I have over 20 knifes and this knife is the first one I have had to send back. Its an expensive knife that due to its unreliability, I can never trust again. Up until the failure, it operated flawlessly. I have a phaeton that has also operated flawlessly.

I own many quality knives made by reputable company's. I have to say nothing compares to my Benchmade Infidel. It is by far the best of the bunch. From the quality components to the overall style and handling. My Infidel is my go to knife in any situation where speed and cutting edge sharpness is called for. I never leave home without it.

I bought the Infidel when I was on my last deployment in 2010. I'll admit that although I've had a few Benchmade knives prior, I bought this one for the cool factor. However, it's been a great knife. I carry it daily and it's done everything from open boxes to cutting food. It holds a great edge and with the double-sided blade, it's essentially two knives in one. The initial price is a little high, but with the lifetime warranty and Eversharp system, I get it refreshed a couple times a year, so that justified my initial investment.

This is by far one of the best if not the best knife I own. I currently own 4 Benchmade knives and this surpasses them all. The fit and finish is amazing. I have only had a few misfires where the spring did not eject the knife with enough force. Either way you can just flick the knife out which sets it back to normal. The only complaint I have is that when in your pocket a dime or a penny could get lodged in where the blade is causing it to jam. But if you shake it enough it will come out eventually. I only mention these couple bugaboos because I want to give the most honest review. Otherwise everything about this knife to fit, finish and function is flawless. Now if they would only sell it for $200, I would buy 3 more.

I just purchased this knife from Ann Arbor Arms. Buy one Benchmade and get 1/2 off the other one. I took them up on the offer and purchased 2 knives. So far my favorite is the Infidel. I am a retired military and former LEO. I now have Poly Neuropathy in my hands and it is hard to open one of the folders. When the manager sapoke with me ( he knew about my hands) he advised me to look at the automatics since I waS eligible. I checked out a lot of what he had and settled on the Infidel. It is a great knife. I am very glad I purchased it. It makes it so much easier to use. Thank you Benchmade.

I have absolute beaten my infidel to death. It still looks like brand new. Still functions like a Swiss watch.
