About the product
The Adamas folding knives come in both manual and automatic and have proven to be the strongest AXIS® knives ever made. A thick blade, liners and G10 handle scales afford the knife much of it's strength. In addition, a portion of the proceeds from these knives are donated to Three Rangers and to the Navy SEAL Foundation; both organizations benefiting the members and families of special operations. Purchased this knife in 2013 when told we were deploying possibly to Afghanistan. 5 years later I still love this knife, carry it everyday in all my roles in the military, as a law enforcement officer and just around town. The knife is solid, has been through hell with me in terms of what I use it for and never fails. The blade thickness alone shows it's made to do serious work.

It's a great knife, impresses a lot of people when you pull it out as they aren't use to seeing a knife that big and heavy duty. Only thing I'd change if I had to do it again was I'd buy the black version as the tan sticks out a bit when wearing black pants or even dress pants. Otherwise this is a great knife, my second Benchmade I've owned and probably the last one I'll ever buy.

This was my first serious knife purchase. Before the Adamas I used cheap knives from Walmart and such. I did a lot of searching around and I wanted something that was sturdy, able to be an EDC, and felt good in the hand. This met all of those criteria and more.

The knife has solid heavy feel. It is not too heavy though after you get used to it. I back pocket EDCd it for a while but it tore a hole in my jeans so I switched to front cary and have noticed no problems. I know everyones anatomy is different, but when front carrying, it does not interfere when sitting down, walking, or normal movement.

The steel has held up really well for me but I will say that the edge did not stay sharp for as long as I expected nor did it come from the store (Cabelas) as sharp as I would have liked it; not Benchmade's problem. Thanks to Benchmade's life time sharpening, I don't really have to worry about getting it sharpened elsewhere.

The action is just awesome! I still sit around and open and close this knife. The opening action is so fluid and satisfying. Just make sure you oil it a little and it will make it even more fun. The opening is so well balanced you can open it with two fingers. Its a blast!

I would totally recommend this knife to anyone who will be using it a lot and is in a field that requires a tank of a knife. I have the non-serrate version in all black.

I love the feel of the knife in my hand and the blade thickness. It oozes quality at every corner. I’ve been searching for a strong, indestructible knife; looks like my search is over.

I will never need to buy another hard use knife. Just gonna replace the blade on this one when it goes. Never been happier. Makes ribbons of everything I use it on. Tough as nails. Smooth action kicks like a mule... beautiful utility knife.

I purchased this knife in 2010/11ish. It was my EDC for many years, and multiple deployments. This thing is a beast. It retains a great edge, the auto-open feature kicks like a mule (not a bad thing IMO), and the heft of the knife is great; it really fills your hand and gives you a confident hold. Unfortunately it got mixed up in some camping gear a couple years back and was thrown out. I loved the knife so much, I bought it again! If you're on the fence because of the price, or the weight, or whatever, this knife does not disappoint one bit. So nice, I bought it twice!

I bought this knife on a deployment in 2014. It is an absolute beast and I love and trust it for everything. After a fews years with it I sent it in to have it tuned. While submitting the form I asked in the requests to have the clip tightened (assuming they would tighten it and replace the screws as they were getting a little on the used side). When I got the knife back (in a very timely fashion I might add) it was very sharp and well oiled, but the clip had not even been removed and was subsequently as slack as when I sent it in. Not a killer problem but I am discouraged on weather or not to ever send it in again.

This knife is insane. I got this as a gift for my bro for his bday, and he loves it. His first benchmade. I have gotten him other knives and stuff, but nothing compares. Black on black with serrated edge, he absolutely loves it. I love the craftsmanship and quality. The engraving is top notch. This is a knife and USA made company he really loves. He now knows why you guys are the best.keep it up

When I ordered this knife I was looking for a quality, strong & beefy automatic folding knife.
The Adamas Family auto delivered. Though I'll admit it was bigger than expected, but I appreciate its size and strength. If you buy the automatic version you better hold on when you open the blade, it has the strongest spring of any automatic or assisted opening knife I have ever owned or tried in person. The price is not cheap, but from what I have seen all things considered this knife is a good value. Also got to love the Benchmade Lifetime Warranty and free lifetime sharpening, inspection and tuning of their knives!! I recommend and will be ordering more Benchmade knives in the future.
