The Bedlam® looks like a scimitar because it was originally designed for the security forces of a King. While very large, it's also one of the most comfortable knives to handle and commands respect. Made in USA.

    Great knife
My wife bought this knife for me for 10 year anniversary. Unfortunately it was stolen while I was out fishing. Walked away from my tacklebox to go fishing and somebody stole my entire tacklebox. This is the most incredible knife I have ever owned besides the infidel that I have. Plan on buying it again soon.

    154CM??
Give me a 710 every day of the week!! I love my 710 D2 or M390, but 154 why?? Longer please!! 3.9 inches is my go to!! Official pen protector! EDC and works for everything!! Cutting up steak, trimming fat off brisket, trimming trees, S'more stick maker!! I'd buy two or three of these if they had different blade steel!

    Best Knife
Been carrying knives everyday for about 30 years. Received the first one as a present and didn't realize how much it would be in use. Over time I have upgraded to the Bedlam Model. Hands down the best knife I ever had. perfect fit in my hand, light weight (for its size) quick opening and durable. Granted I never needed it to take on multiple people like others in the reviews but if the clip is a little to loose just pinch the top part of the clip, easy peasy.

A good knife, but I expected a little more at this price point.
I have been continuously upgrading my EDC knife for a while now seeking the perfect fit. My specific requirements are 1. Quick deployment under stress 2. Large blade 3. Solid construction with high quality materials 4. A pocket clip that is not too tight (like the Cold Steel Recon 1 I was carrying before I purchased the Bedlam) and not too flimsy (like the Bedlam I now carry) 5. Preferably Made in the U.S.A.

The Bedlam delivers on all of those, except for the pocket clip. I noticed right away that it didn't grip my pocket very tightly. It was barely enough to keep it in place without extreme physical activity, and during such it actually slipped out of my pocket a few times. As I work in a profession that may see me in physical altercations with multiple opponents that was very concerning (The Cold Steel Recon 1 was concerning for the opposite reason, because sometimes I could barely get it out of my pocket without the use of both hands). After a couple months of carrying the Bedlam, everywhere and every day, the clip became so loose that it was essentially not exerting any pressure to keep the knife in place.

I called customer service and they were very helpful in sending me out 2 new clips to put on it. While that is good, what would be better is if it came with a stronger clip to begin with or even the option to upgrade to a stronger clip. Although, at a price point of $300 for a folding knife I really don't think it should have to be upgraded. Unfortunately, even if I want to spend more money to upgrade the clip, they don't offer that option. So, going forward I just have to keep having them mail me more flimsy clips and keep replacing them.

I had hoped that the Bedlam would end my search for the perfect personal security EDC knife, but alas the search continues.

If a better clip option becomes available I would revise this review to 5 stars in all categories.

Hands down the best EDC I have ever owned
This thing is a beast, as a commercial crab fisherman in Alaska, I put my Bedlam through its paces on a daily basis. I have been carrying daily with daily hard use and it never fails me! Dont be intimidated by its size. Its extremely comfortable and the blade design is practical for many many uses.

    Best Auto
Being a Deputy Sheriff for many years has seen many times my knife came in handy. I bought my first Benchmade Auto about a year after joining the Department. I remember being amazed and pleased how sharp it was right out of the box. It was a semi-tanto, Eisenshiz(can't remember how to spell it)that always opened quickly and fluidly. With very few touch ups it remained razor sharp and I carried it faithfully. Finally, I passed this heirloom to my son, told him it's history and asked only that he respect it as a tool and keep it maintained, which he has. To replace it I bought the Bedlam Scimitar. It also came razor sharp from the box and functions flawlessly. I fully expect it to carry on being the dependable tool it's predecessor was and will be the last Benchmade I purchase. Thank you, Benchmade for making a product that I carried for years with never a doubt that when I needed it, for whatever the job, it would not let me down.
