    Does not disappoint
Wow, This knife is not heavy, it is solid, sharp, feels nicely balanced in my hand when using it. You need to hold on to it when opening as the spring is strong and deploys the blade just as an automatic should. Benchmade is quality, yes it may be a bit more expensive than some but the value is there. I have many Benchmade knives and have given several as gifts.

    Perfect for everyday use
I love this knife. I purchased one in early December 2019 so this is an early review of the knife. I've owned & own a fair number of knives, a different tool for a different job. In my opinion this knife is the Pinnacle in its class. This is the first Benchmade knife I've owned & won't be the last.

    Great knife for my use
Just bought this knife for my EDC rig. Have other knifes from other knife markers, here in Oregon, decided to try this one. Very satisfied. Light weight quick to open ( I'm 60 and my fingers don't work like they used to) easy to use. Don't mind the price, if you want quality pay up or stay home! Same goes with the rest of my EDC rig. Very happy with it, it will get used!

    Cuts everything, everyday
18 months of daily use. Urban, ranch & wilderness. Splits wood, pry windows & doors, cable ties, tires, electrical wire, tissue, leather, rope, electric fence wire and hoses. Buying a second one to use while I send this one in for the LifeSharp service. Black drop point. Like the thumb inset on the blade top. Considered removing the clip, but found it beneficial when opening - it has a very consistent and immediate action. The clip helps keep it steady. Considered a through the front, but given the variety of uses, the automatic has zero blade play making it a tool as well as persuasion device. Well done. The Chairman approves.

    Great piece of work!
Always opens! Holds a razor sharp edge with little maintenance required. I use this for opening heavy cardboard cartons each and every day. Cuts as well on Friday as it did on Monday. cuts like a scalpel. Handle is non-slip.

    Not worth almost $300
I love benchmade knives. But this is probably the worst value for the money aside from the bugout. It feels and sounds cheap when opened/deployed and I think that's due to the Super lightweight handle. That being said, it has it's positives. 1, the locking switch feels very tactile. You know it's been engaged or disengaged. 2, while I think they should have gone with a different blade steel, the 154cm seems to hold up and hold a decent edge.
Personally, at a starting price of $250, I just don't think it's worth it and I plan on returning mine within the week.

Light Weight, Slim. Awesome Blade and Auto Mechanism.
This is my second Benchmark knife, the first being a Foray, which I really like for the thickness of its blade, Axxis mechanism and overall solid build quality. However, when I handled a CLA in a sporting goods store I was smitten. I purchased the model with G10 black scales and satin blade finish.. I've studied it closely but frankly haven't had much time with it before writing this review.

Overall, it's slightly larger but feels a bit lighter than the Foray. That may be because of the Foray's thicker blade and steel liners. Nevertheless the CLA blade is substantial enough, solid in lockup and perfectly centered. The CLA's longer handle also fits my XXL hand better. And while a flick of the wrist is required to deploy the Foray's blade, the CLA's virtually explodes with a push of a button, requiring a tight hold on the handle. I like the fact that it has a locking button that can be disengaged with my thumb en route upward to pushing the blade-deployment button The CLA"s blade is a bit fuller and longer than the Foray's and frankly more intimidating in appearance and also by the alacrity of its appearance without any external assist!.

But (and here's my only negative and the reason for deducting one star) full concealment is compromised by the location of the black metal clip (which is otherwise identical to the stainless clip of the Foray). Its screw holes were drilled farther from the end than was necessary so, when in pocket, the end of the knife body is visible. Kershaw did a much better job with its even larger Natrix XL, whose clip actually extends slightly beyond the scales so the knife is totally concealed when in pocket. I also much prefer the satin stainless clip of the Foray and will ask Benchmark to send me one with appropriately matching screws. (Maybe they'll even place new screw holes a little farther out for me!)

In spite of these minor quibbles, this is one heck of a knife that will likely not be replaced as my EDC any time soon, if ever.

    Can't complain
Price is high but this knife opens with authority and is well made. I've dropped it and slide it across the floor many times and the plastic scales are holding up just fine. An accidental trip or two through the washing machine and it is unscathed. Great EDC knife, size is perfect, ergonomics are great, and it comes with a deep carry clip. I carried an Adamas 275 for years and this knife has replaced it for EDC.
