Best knife I Own
Bought this knife as my second Benchmade, the first being a Griptilian, and absolutely love this. The size is great, not small but not too large as to be awkward. Great materials. Looks badass. After getting it I dropped it and chipped the handle. Called Benchmade and the service rep said it probably would not be covered by warranty since I was at fault. Sent it in to be sharpened and cleaned, and they Fixed the handle!!! Plus I could shave with this thing if I wanted to. Awesome Knife, awesome company, and great service. Well worth the money. You get what you pay for.
Coolest knife I’ve EVER purchased
This is not my first Benchmade, but I wanted to get a friend an awesome knife as a gift. I found the customizable Crooked River and spent hours fine tuning the blade picture, accents, his name on the blade, and the materials...it was fun. I was a bit skeptical that the actual knife would be as good as the picture. But I was blown away when I got it. The picture didn’t come close to how great this knife looks and performs. Now I want one! I was very lucky in that I had a high contrast picture that was perfect for the blade application.
The fit and finish is flawless. It flips open like silk and locks up with authority. I couldn’t be more pleased. Worth every penny.
This is an excellent knife. It fits my hand. When I use this knife it as if part of me. It's an excellent skinning knife. It's well worth the money.
A beautiful functional big EDC !
What a nice knife ! I love the orange accents, my fave color. It oozes quality. It has to be ambi. I'm a southpaw and flipped the clip as soon as I got home. Locks up like a safe and has a quick deploy. Great blade shape. I like the wood scales , and is SHARP out of the box. My first Benchmade, probably won't be my last.
Absolutely Great Knife Made ion the USA
While I like modern knives, I also like the older, classical looking ones whether wood or horn. I need to find knife for a special occasion with engraving. I also have large hands so I prefer a larger size one. The Crooked River works all the way around. The stabilized wood does not look imitation. It still looks like wood. The knife is very well made...solid. Of course the locking method is easy to use and rock solid as well. The blade steel is a premium one which holds an edge well. The weight and fit in the hand are perfect as well. It is real piece of Americana as well which makes it very attractive as a knife to own. You cannot go wrong picking this up. It comes with a Parkerized clip. However, you can obtain a deep carry clip from Benchmade as I did if you require better concealment. Finally, the price is more than reasonable for what you get.
Big beautiful knife
I waited a long time to get this knife. Once it was released, I fell in love with it and knew I had to have it. It's a perfect blend of a hunting folder and a gentleman's knife, in my opinion. The blade shape is perfect and is incredibly sharp. The only downside to this knife is a couple of it's aesthetics. I'm not crazy about the orange as well as the brushed aluminum in the handle. I think it could have been a much more beautiful knife if a little more attention was paid to there. Despite my feelings in that regard, I love this knife and I am a huge Benchmade fan. It's big and bold and still fits in the pocket nicely. It's not too big for an EDC, but it is big enough to handle tough jobs in the field. All in all, this is one of my favorite knives and would highly recommend it.
Two not One
I purchased one Crooked River with the wood grips....Beautiful!! I love it and the quality is top shelf, I mean its a Benchmade!! I just purchased another Crooked River #2 New in the box never used with beautiful engraving, and checkered wood grips and numbered, don't know much about it. I have 5 Benchmade knives now and I must say that I never really thought about purchasing more than one knife because I buy one, use it then buy another. Born and raised in Alaska I was never without a knife and I have went thru a few but I will always have a Benchmade with me from now on!
Great blade, disappointing handle
Just got my crooked river. The blade is beautiful, and the sharpest thing I have ever had. However, I question the quality control on the handle. I have the wood handle, and the sides came severely mismatched. One is very lightly colored with a nice wood pattern and the other looks like it could be dark brown G10, with barely discernible grain. Also the steel liners have some machining marks / knicks on them around the pivot and the interior edge, which you can feel running your hand along it. No question this is an awesome knife, but can't help but be disappointed by cosmetics.
I just bought it and it cuts perfect. It's a bit pricey but I just love the look of it all. It's a quality blade and it's blade retention is to die for. 10/10 would buy again if needed
A Big Chunk of S30v
This is the knife that has started my collection. I have been out of the knife/pocket tool game for some time, having been happy with the 154cm blade on my previous multi-tool. Finally I got sick of the compromise and wanted to carry a real knife again, all because of this beauty!
I'm glad it was this blade that finally caught my eye! Something about the beautiful sweep of the clip point subtly contrasted against the curve of the handle had me at first sight, but little did I know until I researched it that your actually getting a very fine chunk of steel (S30v, and very substantial size) along with that eye catching style!
I had never considered dropping >$100 on a folding knife before. Really, I would have thought it dumb to do so. But having seen what your dollars can get you these days, I'm hooked and my benchmade blade collection is now growing rapidly!
