    Don't Recommend
This product which is manufactured by Work Sharp for Benchmade is not as good as the version sold directly by Work Sharp. The rough diamond stone that bares the Benchmade Logo while attractive has no diamond stones where the logo appears and interferes with the stones performance as a sharpener. Buy the Work Sharp field sharpener instead or you'll end up buying a diamond stone from work sharp to replace the Benchmade branded rough diamond stone that comes with this product. Just my 2 cents.

Best field sharpener I've used so far.
It’s a very rare occasion when I love a product so much that I actually bother to leave a review.
Im an infantryman in the Army, and as you can imagine, I put my knives through a lot of abuse. I bring cheaper knives on field exercises because if I somehow lose one, I won’t really mind too much. A side effect this is that these knives use cheaper steels which dull faster, so a knife that was sharp on day 1 might be useless on day 2.
Ive tried lot of different field sharpeners and they all have flaws. Pull-throughs put a terrible edge on and will destroy a knife if overused, but are good in a pinch. Arkansas and ceramic stones give a nice edge but are fragile and require maintenance and lubrication.
    This one though.
The ergonomics of this sharpener are perfect. It’s easy to hold and can be used on any surface. The guides on either side serve the dual purpose of making sure your edge is consistent, and also stopping you from pushing the blade off the far edge if you’re sharpening around other people. The many different surfaces allow you to sharpen any tool from knives, serrations, can openers, scissors, seatbelt cutters, fishhooks, etc. I don't have to worry about roughing it up because diamond stones don’t crack and don't lose their shape. You can put a shaving edge on any knife in just a few minutes with this thing.
This is the quality I've come to expect from Benchmade and I absolutely recommend this sharpener to everyone, whether you have decades of experience or you've never sharpened a knife before.

I use to use the another brand. Now I have this one; every Blade is Razor sharp.
Excellent Product. I need to get me at least one more. One for home and one for my Vehicle.I like to keep every blade in its up most sharpest condition ; like my straight Razor to shave with.

    Everything okay nothing great.
Recently I bought the field sharpener in order to do sharpening when I'm not at home. Like most multi tools it does everything okay but nothing great.

The one problem that I have is with the course grinding stone it has the name Benchmade etched into it. When i was sharpening I would repeatedly catch an edge on the etching of the name Benchmade and the knife would catch and stop or jump. I absolutely hated it. It is actually built by the Worksharp company it just has the Benchmade name on it. In fact inside it has worksharp information for replacements of the various stones.

This is the first Benchmade product that I ever had that I actually considered trying to return it. I decided that I'm just going to keep it in my bag I might need it on the road but I doubt I'll use it much.

Excellent, but not quite dummy proof
I purchased from REI and within 10 minutes of sharpening in the truck my EDC knife had a usable edge again. The sharpener requires a bit more attention than some of the cheap pocket sharpeners on the market, but the combination of course diamond, fine diamond, multiple ceramic rod finishes and a leather strop make it a complete sharpener for any blade - even one that was abused. The angled guides are almost dummy proof but you'll want a solid surface to help steady the hand. The weight is minimal but again, more than the little pocket sharpeners. Consider carrying this tool in a small pocket on your pack or in a tool bag. I'm glad I purchased, and I think it's a good value. I'll be sitting down with my other knives this evening to prepare for the hunting season.
