I purchased this knife when they were first released. I payed just over $100 for it shipped. I dont know of hardly any CPM-S30V folding knives you can get even close to that price range with a name that's trustful like Benchmade(well maybe nowadays). Not to mention the blade grind high flat, I only need to touch it up with my WE120 and its sharper than factory. I have run it through it paces, cardboard, wood you name it. Blade never chipped it barely rolled. I still have a factory bevel I've just been touching it up. Love the handle ergos and the simplicity of it,K.I.S.S.
But then Benchmades gotta put out the 560-1 with my favorite colors on it and new M4 blade I'll keep the versaflex. Only prob I have with it I cant justify doubling the price of the folder just for a different steel by CPM and g10 not versaflex. I will own an m4 freek. But I'm not paying $200+ for it. I can get ALOT more in a folder for that in my eyes. BUT BENCHMADE IF YOU WANT ILL SEND IN MY 560bk AND YOU CAN PUT THE CPM-M4bk BLADE ON IT!!!! PRETTY PLEASE. I recommend this folder to anyone who's good with spending about 100 for a stellar knife, I mean its CPMS30V! Great EDC or take to work knife from a great company thats been around a long time. They take care of thier customers....that's why I got a griptilian after I already had a BM, just because it's one of Benchmades first huge deal edc. I have a bunch of knives with super steels(collector). Benchmades heat treating process is on point everytime. I've had 2 knives same steel same weight similar ergos and same blade thickness and grind. The BM always OUT PERFORMED EVERYTIME 154cm or not. So if you are new to the knife stuff. Do yourself a favor and skip all those 30 to 40$ blades and get one of these, unless it's your first ever blade I would break a 50$ knife learning what the differences are in grinds and steels and company. You will be impressed. Also out of the box sharpness is great depending on what you intend to use it for you wont need to sharpen it for awhile. Not to my standard, I love stupid sharp polished bevels. One of the best purchased knives I own and I have 400$ custom knives. So if you want 1 knife that will last a beating but isnt a tank like a ZT❤ do yourself a favor and pick up a freek. You wont be disappointed it will perform alot of tasks. It's not my absolute favorite knife out of the 24 I have but its definitely top 5. Good job BM on this and I hate you for the 560-1bk if I knew that was in the way hands down i would have waited for that(but there is always something new coming out anyways). That m4 steel is making waves in the knife community.....keep up the great work guys.

After all these years of hearing about Benchmade knives I finally decided to take the plunge and am ever so glad I did! I came across a deal I couldn't pass up for the 560 here and I must say.. there is no comparison! The quality, build, fit as well as the finish is outstanding. You'll not be disappointed with this knife. This guy was razor sharp out of the box and has remained such since it has been placed in service
Thanks, Benchmade brethren! Again I say.. wow! :)

I have been using and collecting knives for 45 years, and I've made knives for 12 years. This is likely the best production knife you will ever own. Top quality, sharp as all get out, and rock solid fit in your hand. Very easy to touch-up and keep sharp. You will not be sorry you purchase this gem. I'm a tough customer to please and I'm telling you this is an outstanding knife.

Bought this at a hunting show based on the alleged “razor sharp” characteristic. I have used this to clean fish pheasant and deer.........all of which were very difficult due to the lack of cutting ability.

I am sending it back to be sharpened ......if it didn’t cost me $150 I would toss it in the garbage.

This is a great knife I carry it everyday. Love the blade shape and the edge holds up nicely. The handle is very grippy and doesn’t feel like it will slip out of my hand. Only complaint is that it can be a little hard to get back in pockets due to the versa flex but other than that a solid knife overall. Highly recommended!

I've had this knife for a while now. It gets used primarily for outdoor and yard maintenance chores and so far it's held up very well. The grip size and texture are excellent for me and the serrated blade is useful when you need that cutting edge. It's too large to be my EDC under my state's blade length limit, but otherwise the Freek has been a solid performer and a good value for the price. Highly recommended.

Just took delivery of a 560S (serrated) Freek. It is the epitome of quality and craftsmanship. The S30V blade cuts effortlessly right out of the box, beautiful finish too. Full knife is extremely light but easy to grip, excellent ergonomics. Axis lock is very convenient, secure, full confidence in that design. There is zero freeplay or tolerance with the action, open or closed, the build is astounding. Only hang-up is what I had read from others, that the rubbery handle grabs your pocket too much. Personally, this doesn’t bother me, but is noticeable, and may be a small hinderance to those wanting a very quick draw. On the other hand, I have no worry of it moving in my pocket or my grip, as long as my draw is deliberate I have no issues. Otherwise, very well done.

I've never been much for really big folders, but this puppy has changed me - probably forever. The tool opens and closes solidly and with precision every time. Blade is big and can cut - no worries. Handle material is really grippy and just stays put in your hand. The blade material and hardness makes it easy to sharpen and to keep it sharp. Dudes - just keep touching them up on your ceramic cross sticks so they don't get too dull and you will have an outstanding pocket knife. Don't you just love it when someone looks at your knife and says, OOOOOhhhh, it's a Benchmade!!!

What a great knife!! I thoroughly enjoyed using and playing with this knife! The s30v steel is amazing on it perfect made for this knife and for what I put it through. The handle is soooo grippy and comfortable! Y’all did I amazing job benchmade designing this knife! I only complaint it the handle feels a light and not as strong as the barrage I have with steel spacers in it. But over all this is a great knife and am still very excited about owning and using it!! Good job everyone at benchmade keep up the great work!!
