I bought mine at REI.

If you see 4.33 stars on my review, that's because Benchmade will only let me rate the product on Price(5), Value(4), and Quality(4). This review is actually about Operability. I have treated Value&Quality as a proxy for Operability, so that the final score gets down to where I'd like it to be.

The issue with Operability for this particular model, is that the dome of the thumb studs bar are too smooth. (That is also true of the AXIS bar, but in practice I find that to be slightly less of an issue.)

This is not to say that they don't work; it's just that the sensation of your thumb slightly slipping as you operate the controls detracts from the user experience of use, reducing confidence during deployment. This effect is exacerbated if your thumb is slick with fat or blood from the animal you're skinning.

Compare this with the Mini Crooked River, which has concentric-circle jimping on top of all the controls. They grip your finger tips in a reassuring way.

Now you could retort with "just land your thumb lower on the studs, when deploying." Yes that would help. But when you've owned multiple Benchmades over many years, and built up a muscle memory that is compatible with your other BM knives, that is easier said than done.

Otherwise: blade centering is perfect, lock-up is perfect, and the action is silky smooth. The top layer of the rubbery parts of the handle will eventually start to wear off (near the controls) after you've flicked it open a few thousand times. But the next layer down seems to be exactly the same material, so that ends up being kind of like when you peel after a sunburn heals.

I've been using this knife for a year now, every thing is great , grip is very comfortable and easy to grasp on, bright orange is surprisingly helpful when I lost track of where I put it in my messy room, steel is as good as i would except from S30V and Benchmade ; all but one thing.
The soft handle material (Versaflex, I assume) will start to wear off from the corners, especially the corners on the side of the pocket clip and where the index finger rest, I've noticed this after starting EDC this knife for about a month (and I still do now). I'll assume this can still last for few years before it get to a point that it'll be a major deal, but I sure am keeping an eye for the next knife to get.

I own a mini griptillian that was formerly my EDC.

After leaving the Army and becoming a wildland firefighter in Washington, I wanted something that wasnt going to fall out of my pocket as I was climbing through brush and ash and dirt, many times on hands and knees.

I had heard horror stories. One guy lost a Chris Reeves knife on the Carlton Complex in 2014. Yikes.

Enter the Grizzly Ridge.

It has a deep carry pocket clip, but more than that, it has a rubberized handle. No doubt this was intended to help you keep your grip while processing game, but for me it had the added purpose of pocket security and remaining secure in my gloved hand covered in all sorts of grime and oil.

IF I could change one thing, I wish the blade style was a true drop point. That is 100% only because I've been using this as an EDC/utility knife as opposed to it's intended purpose.

If you're on the fence because of the price and the "what if I lose a $150 knife" question, buy it. I've never owned a more secure pocket knife.

I took my new Grizzly Ridge straight from the box to a West Virginia Black Bear. Field Dressing, quartering, and butchering the entire Bear without hitting the blade with a steel once! I removed the neck roast at the spine, split the ribs on both sides, and finishing the entire process. This knife is still as sharp as when I pulled it out of the box. The weight is right, blade length, balance, and it looks DIRTY I just can't say enough about this knife. -Chef

I recently purchased this knife at a Cabela's in Kansas City Ks. I was drooling over all the Benchmade knives and saw this stunning Grizzly Ridge. In my opinion, it is the PERFECT blade length. The S30V steel is phenomenal and the handle was so comfortable and grippy. I instantly fell in love with this knife.

The build quality is unmatched! The blade size and shape is perfect, the grind on my blade is phenomenal, and the handle feels so comfortable in either hand, no matter how I grip it. There is absolutely no wiggle on the blade in any direction. I have read a few "complaints" about how the Axis lock studs are too small, but I find them easy to grab and I like how they are tucked away. I think if they stuck out any more, they would alter the comfort of the grip. I don't have any complaints about the arrow clip, but I do prefer a "Deep Carry Pocket Clip". So what did I do? I contacted Benchmade's AMAZING support staff, and one is one the way. Easy change.

I can't say enough about this knife. After just one knife, I am an Official Benchmade Fanboy!

The fit/finish on this knife is excellent. Its construction is very durable even compaired to some other Benchmade knives I own.

I had hoped to used this as an EDC, but the rubber grips (while very comfortable) make it hard to get in/out of my pocket quickly. This knife is deffinitely going to be a staple in my hunting/hiking packs though!

This is my new EDC. Blade is very sharp and hold its edge very well for the price. It will be joining me on my hunting trips to compliment my larger buck knife. The grip on this knife is very comfortable and have had no sense that it was going to slip or spin in my hand.

I bought this knife when I saw it on the 2018 lineup ad, I loved the orange and grey handle and the shape of the blade so I bought it. I got it and I have to say the action is buttery smooth and there is no blade play. It comes with S30V Bladesteel which holds a wicked edge and is very quickly becoming one of my personal favorite steels. The handle is not only sleek and stylish but the rubberized grip feels really great in the hand. Benchmade has knocked it out of the park with this one, the only slightly negative thing I have to say is that I really wish it came with a deep carry clip but that alone wouldn’t stop me from buying it. If you’re thinking about buying it do it, it’s really a bargain and you won’t regret it.

I just bought it today 4/11/2018 this my first major purchase for a closing blade knife and I'm highly loving the feel of this knife, thou it is listed as hunting knife it fits in my pocket perfectly with no problems as to weight and size or uncomfortableness, love the clip on the side as well to be out of the way instead of being down in the bottom of the pocket
