Posted onNice Concept, So-so ExecutionI really like the concept of the Aller. Good steel, nice money clip, useful tool extensions. Blade is truly tiny (which is fine by me, but be sure you realize this is a "pipsqueak" in size when you buy it. Blade is really sharp, and it's a nice tidy looking knife/tool/money clip. The only characteristic which keeps this from earning 5 stars is the absolutely cheap feeling plastic handles. At least they are grooved, but seem out of place on a premium product like Benchmade. Still happy I got it, but just wish the handles felt more substantial.
Posted onLove the size and shape but worried it dosent lockI love the size and feel of this little knife. I love Benchmade knives and it looked exactly like what I wanted to carry in my pocket so I went and purchased one at a local dealer right away. I bought a first production too which is great. Great shape and its thin and lays flat without bulging my pocket.
My only worry is that there is no lock or tension on the blade. I wear slacks at work on some days with large pockets and worry a little that it may open if I place my phone or something in my pocket and it hits the screwdriver head just right. I put a tiny band around it just in case. I wish there was a small latch or some tension there. I also wish the same when it was open, some sort of lock to keep it open as it's used.
Besides that it's a great little knife. .
Posted onWeird, but in a good wayOk, so when I got this I really wondered what I'd purchased. It is a little odd. The whole thing feels lighter than the blade when it's out and the shape takes some getting used to. After having it a few days I really appreciated the uniqueness and am happy with it. A useful little knife and a very well made one too.
Posted onWeird, but in a good waySo my first impression was ‘what have I bought’? But I have to say, it’s grown on me. The blade feels heavier and more solid than it appears and is razor sharp. It’s a handy little all in one and an interesting collaboration. My only criticism is that despite ordering this as soon as it was available, I still wasn’t able to get a ‘first run’ edition.
