Posted onIt's Really GoodI'm kind of a fan of Benchmade. I own 12. More than any other brand of knife I own. I love your products, and I use them frequently. The Bailout is a good knife. The main draw for me was that it is the first CPM-3V folding knife I have seen on the market. There are several things about it that on paper I don't like, but works rather well on the knife. I don't like coated blades, but the Cerakote finish on the blade is quite durable and offers good resistance against corrosion. I don't like tanto blades, but this tanto is very reasonable. It is nearly a drop point with just a tiny angled point and plenty of belly. The only thing I can really harp on is the hardness. I do not need some crazy edge retention, but it is a shame that this steel was not allowed to shine at a higher hardness than the 56 that I got on mine. 58 is the suggested minimum.
Posted onBugout on steroidsI’ve had many benchmade - super freak, 940, Bugout, coalition, grizzly creek, etc. I’ve found the Bugout to be the most efficient edc especially when wearing slacks, and jumped on this when I heard it was a tad bigger, and a tad sturdier grip w less flex.
It’s incredible. Same feel as Bugout, w the blade coating, the thumb notch, and the new pommel. This is my first foray into a tanto blade, digging it so far, good for starting cuts and cutting straight lines.
I’ve notched 3 serrated marks toward the end as I find the serrated option is too much and takes away from slicing, I find it hard to believe the current serrated option is used for heavy sawing but that’s just me. Note - this may void a warranty I haven’t looked into it :)
Bottom line - great blade and meets the high bar of benchmade quality.
Posted onSuper light weight and great actionNot sure on the blade sharpness do to not having it a week, but the cutting I've done was outstanding so fare. The lock up is good and tight, and centering on point. If I had one critique it would be to brake the inner handle so it has a smoother inner edge. Super light!! Great knife!!! EDC..
