Proper Family

Product Review (submitted on July 26, 2018):
I've owned a few modern slipjoints, but none are as easy to disassemble and maintain as the proper. I really like the fact that the screws use the same size tool, and having the blade run on phosphor bronze washers is a huge plus. The blade stock is nice and thin, and s30v is a pretty good material- certainly better than most other slipjoints on the market, though I do wish it was offered in 20cv. Speaking of 'druthers, the stock on the blade is thin but the grind is pretty thick. The swedge on mine was also not ground symmetrically- Benchmade is apparently still experiencing quality control issues. Sloppy grinding aside, the blade came centered, the design is good, the blade steel is okay, I really like the handle material, and I'm enjoying the knife. I'd buy it again if it was offered in a better steel and/or with a thinner grind.
