Emissary® 3.5 Family
Product Review (submitted on February 14, 2017):
I have always been a huge Benchmade fan, I was introduced from my brother. My first benchmade purchase as the axis flipper, I carried this knife everywhere, everyday for about 6 months, I put my flipper to many tests, some I expected to failed, but it never did. Wanting to put it into retirement, and make my first step up in the collection, I chose the emissary 3.5 inch, aqua blue, with serrations. When I first opened the box, it had been carefully packed, and beautiful presented. I instantly slipped on my Benchmade lanyard, and made it a piece of art. The locking mechanism has more detail to it than I thought, with a gear like design, that I did not see in the initial picture. The spring assist blade lock is stiff and strong, and sounds with a satisfying pop. One issue I had with my Axis Flipper was the pocket clip bent and seemed weak, it need to be taken off and fixed periodically, this clip seems durable, and easier to work with. I thought the spring assist safe would look and feel cheesy, but it's actually class and adds an unique feature to the blade. I would give this knife a 10 out of 10, and if the price is stopping you, stop, buy the knife, it is 100% worth it. Some people say the aluminum anodized coating is too slick, I would have to disagree, my knife seemed to have a better initial grip than my Axis Flipper, which I thought was extremely slick, until 3 weeks in approximately. This is one of my favorite knives I have ever held, let
the alone owned, and it will bE my EDC for a very very long time.
