Yes, it is the gold standard for ultralight backpacking and trail running. It provides a premium S30V cutting edge for camp tasks, food prep, or emergency gear repairs without adding any meaningful weight to your kit. Its compact 3.7-inch closed length even allows it to fit inside a standard survival mint tin or a small shoulder-strap pocket.

Why is Grivory® a good handle material for the Mini Bugout? +

Grivory is a glass-filled thermoplastic composite that's lightweight, durable, and trusted in aerospace and automotive industries. It offers excellent toughness without adding weight, keeping the Mini Bugout® at just 1.5 oz while maintaining impact resistance for hard use. It won't crack or warp, provides a secure grip texture even when wet, and stays comfortable in extreme temperatures, unlike metal handles.

How does the AXIS® Lock function on such a small frame? +

The Mini Bugout® uses the same proven AXIS® Lock mechanism as the full-size Bugout®, just fitted to a smaller frame. A spring-loaded bar engages the blade tang to create a secure lockup that's as strong as any frame lock or liner lock. The ambidextrous design allows one-handed opening and closing from either side, and the lock remains fully functional despite the knife's compact 3.7" closed length.
