I was looking for a workplace friendly EDC for the office and this knife definitely checks off all of the boxes. It's lightweight and I completely forget it's in my pocket. It's great for out in the field or back in the office. I've put it through it's paces and it's still razor sharp. The axis lock gives it the strength I needed for working out in the field. The size is perfect for back in the office and doesn't get the attention that some of my larger knives would. I've also purchased this knife in the gold class. #775, Thank you Benchmade!

The bugout is amazing! After spending a lot of time with my 943 this felt flimsy and cheap at first, but it most certainly is not! Super lightweight and sturdy. Absolutely love the styling of the knife. The mini deep carry clip is awesome. The only thing I notice in comparison to the 943 that I find I like less on the bugout is that the axis lock sits a little more "flush" to the face of the handle, whereas the 943's is raised a little higher, which makes pulling the lock with one finger a little more difficult on the 535. This is super minor though. All around this knife is still incredible!

This knife is amazing, it's light, functional, and very attractive. Disappears in your pocket until you need it. S30V steel is sharp and holds an edge. The only thing that could make it better would be premium scales like carbon fiber or G10. For the price, you can't do better. If you're on the ropes pull the trigger. You'll be happy you did.

The 535 has quickly become my daily carry, replacing the Mini Grip. The first thing I noticed is how light it is. Under 2 oz. Feels like it's not even there. The deep carry clip is great to have right out of the box. The clip is a little short, so the pull out of my pocket and transition to full grip is not quite as smooth as some knives, but just everything else about it more than makes up for that. And I'm sure there's plenty of options to install a longer clip if needed.

The handle is a full four finger grip with my hands, whereas the slightly shorter Mini Grip left my pinky hanging off. The blade is also just a bit longer, but still under the 3 inches that some locations limit by law. There's a little play in the Grivory scales, but I've not found a job that they can't handle yet. The action is incredibly smooth, has a nice solid lockup, and the action is not as springy sounding as the MG. It's real quiet. The blade doesn't bounce back when it closes if the axis lock is still pressed down if I'm snapping it shut one-handed. It also has the added benefit of looking awesome. The blue anodized thumb stud is a nice small feature that really pops against the satin-finished steel.

This knife is exactly what I was looking for in an EDC. The Bugout is very thin and lightweight (amazingly less than 2oz w/ a 3.25" blade), feels great clipped inside the pocket, the S30V blade came wicked sharp right out the box, and it's a Benchmade. The Bugout 535 has replaced my Osborne as my new favorite EDC. I will be purchasing another 535 very soon! Highly recommend!!!!

Overall - highly recommend if looking for thin, strong, and light.

Waited a week of usage before leaving this review. For context - have the 940-2, mini grip, and grizzly creek. The 940 was my go to for EDC with a modified deep clip, challenge was the short height of the blade and the g10 being slippery (added small strips of skateboard tape to rectify). Have been looking for a blade forever that has the stats that the 535 has on paper.

If you want a light and thin knife with the quality of benchmade, this is it. Takes a little while to get over the feeling that its cheap and won't hold up given how light it is, however there are some videos out there of people beating the 535 with a log to cut another log... so i have confidence its true benchmade quality.

Blade is nice and vertically high, beautiful grind, grivory handle feels like the griptilian g10, the mini deep clip is awesome, and for normal EDC (specifically with work slacks) you don't even notice its there. I was hesitant on the blue at first but actually like it now... much easier to spot when laying around the house or amidst a bunch of other little things that go in my pocket. Or if outside on ground.

Only have two pieces of feedback:

1) would take a tiny bit more weight to have some jimping on the under side of the handle, like the 940
2) prefer another spacer up towards the blade, if you pinch the handle really hard you can feel it flex slightly - doesn't impact function but drives me a little crazy
