Full Specifications

A minimalist workhorse, this ultra-versatile kitchen tool was built, designed, and manufactured to perform. From field to table, this knife combines the power and exceptional quality of Benchmade’s proprietary SelectEdge® technology for a cut like no other. The gray PIM sheath is included for safe storage and easy transport from camp to the kitchen. Over time, Richlite®, a paper composite material, will develop a natural patina, altering the original color of the material. "Patina” is a natural occurrence in the product that can either darken or lighten depending on exposure to light.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does the Station Knife differ from a traditional Chef’s knife? +

Unlike traditional chef’s knives, which are intended for use in tandem with other knives in a set, optimized for narrow kitchen tasks, the Station Knife is a versatile workhorse designed for everything from heavy meat prep to fine vegetable work. Built with CPM-154 steel, it offers significantly better corrosion resistance and unmatched edge retention compared to standard kitchen steels. Its refined 14-degree edge delivers a sharper, more durable cut that stays high-performing through longer use cycles.

How does the Station Knife differ from other Camping Chef’s knives? +

Most camping kitchen knives sacrifice edge quality for durability, compromising material quality or durability for the sake of portability or price point. The Station Knife is a premium crossover, featuring CPM-154 stainless steel and a 14-degree SelectEdge®. These specs, typically found only in high-end boutique cutlery, provide unmatched edge retention and high corrosion resistance, ensuring the blade holds a surgical edge while standing up to harsh outdoor elements without compromise.

Is the Richlite handle more durable than natural wood? +

Yes. Unlike natural wood, which can crack, warp, or harbor bacteria when exposed to moisture, Richlite® is a high-density paper composite that is highly resistant to water. It offers an organic aesthetic similar to the look and feel of wood with added durability and heat resistance, making it well suited for both professional kitchens and outdoor environments.

What is the Benchmade Station Knife designed for? +

The Station Knife was designed as a one-knife solution for a wide range of tasks. Its hybrid design handles everything from butchering meat to dicing vegetables, making it an ideal minimalist tool for home cooks, grill masters, and outdoor chefs who prefer to carry a single, versatile blade.

What is SelectEdge® technology, and how does it improve the knife’s performance? +

SelectEdge® is Benchmade’s proprietary edge geometry sharpening process designed for a signature optimal push-cut feel performance. Unlike traditionally sharpened edges, it features a finer 14-degree angle per side. SelectEdge® applies an ultra-refined, smooth edge with precision-engineered angle geometry, resulting in an exceptionally sharp, long-lasting blade edge that glides through proteins and vegetables with minimal pressure, optimized for providing professional-grade culinary performance for extended periods.
