Yes. The Bugout® is designed with outdoor and survival-oriented use in mind. Its lightweight construction and durable Cerakote® blade finish make it well-suited for everyday cutting tasks in both urban and rugged environments. While it’s not intended for heavy-duty survival work, it performs reliably for hiking, camping, and general field tasks.

What makes the Bugout® different from other EDC knives? +

The Bugout® stands out for its exceptional strength-to-weight ratio. Weighing just 1.85 ounces, it features premium CPM-S30V steel, offering strong edge retention and corrosion resistance compared to many standard folding knife steels. What is Grivory® and why is it used on the Bugout®? +

Grivory® is a high-performance engineered polymer chosen for its excellent strength-to-weight ratio. It allows the 535FE-05 Bugout® to remain exceptionally lightweight without sacrificing durability, making it an ideal handle material for an everyday carry knife designed to be carried in the pocket for extended periods without adding noticeable weight.

How does the Bugout® compare to the Mini Bugout®? +

The Mini Bugout® trims the blade to 2.82" and closes to 3.75", compared to the Bugout's 3.24" blade and 4.22" closed length. At 1.5 oz, it also weighs 0.35 oz less. Both share the same S30V steel, Grivory® handle, and AXIS® Lock mechanism, making the choice mostly about which fits better in the hand or in the pocket.
