This knife has it coming and going. Razor-sharp? Check. Light as a feather? Check Premium materials? Check. Almost perfect size? Check. Feels good in your hand? Great. This is one of those knives that you MUST own. If I was limited to 2-3 knives, this is one that would be in that trio of knives.

I was shopping for a Griptilian or Mini Griptilian for EDC, but when I saw the Bugout in the case i had the dealer hand it to me so I could compare the knives. Once I held the Bugout, I was sold. The weight (or lack thereof) is incredible. It is so light and slim I simply don't feel it clipped to my jeans or shorts, yet it is very usable with a good intermediate blade length and very comfortable handle. I like the short clip on it too and it sits well in a pocket. The new grey/green color is good looking and there really isn't anything Id change. It's the perfect light duty everyday carry knife.

I bought this knife online via an authorized dealer since it wasn't in stock at Benchmade after watching the "Gray Man".You need to watch this clip about the Bugout if you're looking for a small knife and are a survivalist, this knife is for you. I don't do a whole lot of camping or hunting but this knife works well in construction. Whether I'm cutting rope for tag lines or need to dispose of old/worn/damaged rigging straps, the Bugout does a better cutting job than a razor knife. Its concealable, tough and easy to use one handed. I rotate knives often, between Benchmade, Spyderco and ZT, and a Leatherman hooked to my belt but the Bugout is always with me. I can't say enough about this knife. What would make this knife even more badass is if it came in auto or Assisted Axis, not sure if it would hinder the size though.

Now for start, i will admit that i didn't buy this knife from this website. I bought mine from amazon in which came from DLT Trading. That being said, I have been carrying this knife for about a couple of weeks now and i can honestly say that from the moment i first got it out of the packaging and into my pocket, I instantly fell in love with this knife. From the look of it, to the razor sharp edge, it has everything going for it that i could ever want for a edc knife. This is my ideal knife for every basic edc tasks that i throw at it. Like i said in the title, you absolutely will not regret this purchase. It is a excellent knife and I can barley keep myself from admiring it constantly and wanting to use it for everything. Definitely worth every penny!

I am an avid outdoorsman, hunt, camp and I also like to have an EDC. Having been on a recent hunt and used a knife for skinning, I found that I needed another knife that would be sharper/hold edge/light. Current knives I use are the Opinel and also a CRKT Ripple.
Going online I was pretty much decided upon getting a S35VN blade for about $100.... I asked a fren about the Kershaw and Kizer, then he said to stuf them and get a Benchmade. USA quality. I saw the 554 Blue bugout, the spec fitted, but, the blue colour was a no go, but lucky after more digging they have a coated black blade with a FDE handle. The gold pins match it well and I am absolutely in love with the looks. The clip is short and also sits up high, so not much of it can be seen from the pocket. The axis locking mechanism is solid, I guess I need to break it in more so that I can flick it.

Other then that, thanks Benchmade for such a quality product. Price was defiantly above the original budget, but one never forgets quality.

I've been collecting knives for a while and although the price is harsh the quality and design are much worth it. I had it for a total of one week before seven of my coworkers got it. The blade is outstandingly sharp and edge retention is outlandish. to compare a keshaw is good but a benchmade is pretty close to perfect. The handle is light and fits perfectly in my hand and never gets tired while in use.

I went back and forth for weeks on which new Benchmade knife I wanted for a new EDC. I was torn between the Mini Crooked River, the aluminum handle 940, the blue Bugout, or the new G10 Mini Griptilian. I just couldn't decide...until I saw the new green and black Bugout on BladeHQ's Knife Banter with Hans. I was sold; the new Bugout was the knife for me. I immediately jumped online and purchased the knife, and upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with how much quality came in such a lightweight package. Incredibly sharp edge, lightweight and ergonomic handle, easy one-handed operation with the AXIS lock, and the deep carry pocket clip made for an incredible EDC blade. Forget what they say this knife is intended for; this is not the throw-in-your-pack-to-use-only-when-needed knife. No, let this knife free by keeping it at your side at all times and never feel left wanting something else. A survival, tactical, or outdoor knife this is not, but it is as good an EDC knife as you can find.

I own a couple Benchmade folders and have wanted to pick up the Bugout ever since I saw it released in blue/satin. I never pulled the trigger, which I am glad, because I absolutely love the look of the OD green with Grey blade – so I had to get it. Between the Bugout and my Mini and Full-sized Griptilians, this one is always in my pocket. Not only because it's brand spankin' new but also because it's so light and hella sharp. When I started collecting knives I of course had a couple other brands but when I was given a Benchmade for my Birthday (mini grip) I was hooked and haven't been able to stray away from the Butterfly since.

Either you're reading this review because you know the quality of Benchmade or you don't, but I can tell you its' worth the price. I give it 4 stars for the price not because the benefit doesn't match but because we all like things a little cheaper. Like all nice things, you get what you pay for, and that could not be more true for the Benchmade brand. Blades are sharp and centered right out of the box – and if that doesn't impress you – the Axis Lock alone will; I don't like a knife without it and other brands are trying to mimic it.

Benchmade has something unique to their products that make them worthy of passing down to family or giving them as wedding/graduation gifts. So get one for yourself or someone else and feel what it's like to hold one of the best production knives in the market today.

Picked this up the other day and I personally find it an improvement on the previous model of bugout due to the improvement "paint job". Mine was razor sharp out of the box and so light weight compared to any other Benchmade that I own. I am a fan of the grivory scales as I have never had a poor experience with the material. Another great blade from Benchmade and the gold thumbstud and backspacers look wicked!
