Weighing just 1.5 ounces and featuring a 2.82" blade, it delivers meaningful cutting capability in an exceptionally compact package. It's a strong choice for everyday carry, hiking, travel, and anyone who prefers a smaller knife that remains capable of handling daily tasks.

How does the 533BK-2 Mini Bugout® differ from the full-size Bugout®? +

The Mini has a 2.82" blade and closes to 3.75", compared to the full-size's 3.24" blade and 4.22" closed length. At 1.5 oz, it also weighs 0.3 oz less. Both share the same S30V steel, Cerakote blade finish, CF-Elite® handle, and AXIS® lock.

What is CF-Elite® and how does it differ from traditional Carbon Fiber? +

CF-Elite® is a high-tech, carbon-fiber-reinforced thermoplastic composite. Traditional carbon fiber uses woven sheets of carbon bound by resin, which yields premium rigidity but can be costly and prone to chipping under impact. CF-Elite® injects structural carbon fibers directly into the polymer. This provides a rugged, molded texture with the extreme stiffness of carbon fiber at a fraction of the weight.

How does the 533BK-2 Mini Bugout® differ from the standard Mini Bugout®? +

The 533BK-2 Mini Bugout® version swaps the standard Grivory® handle for CF-Elite®, a carbon fiber-reinforced composite that is stiffer and more rigid under pressure, making it a better fit for heavier cutting tasks. The Cerakote blade finish adds corrosion and wear resistance while reducing glare, compared to the satin blade on the standard model.

Is the 533BK-2 Mini Bugout® stiff enough for hard use despite its compact size? +

Yes. A common concern with ultralight compact knives is frame flex under pressure. The 533BK-2's handle scales are reinforced with carbon fiber, keeping flex minimal during demanding tasks. Paired with the ambidextrous AXIS® Lock, it provides the lockup confidence and structural security you would expect from a larger work knife.
