Frequently Asked Questions

What can I customize on the Benchmade Custom Bugout®? +

The Custom Bugout® allows you to personalize nearly every visible component. Choose your preferred premium blade steel and blade finish, select your ideal handle material, and customize hardware colors to match your style. Personalize the spacers, thumb studs, pocket clip, handle screws, and AXIS® lock bar, then finish your build with optional laser engraving for text or graphics on the blade.

Which blade steels are available for the Custom Bugout®? +

The Custom Bugout® is available in S30V, S90V, and Ladder-pattern Damasteel®. S30V is a well-rounded option suited for everyday use. S90V delivers superb edge retention, staying sharp longer under heavy use but requiring more effort to sharpen. Damasteel® is composed of a mix of RWL34 and RPMC27 steel, offering a strong combination of toughness in a distinctive pattern. It is a popular choice for collectors and for those who want a one-of-a-kind look.

Who is the Custom Bugout® best suited for? +

The Custom Bugout® is designed for users who want a lightweight, full-size everyday carry knife tailored to their exact preferences. It’s well suited for daily utility, outdoor use, and general carry, while the Customizer lets you configure everything from blade steel and handle material to hardware colors and laser engraving for a personal build.
