A SIDE HUSTLE WITH STYLE

Jared Oeser has always loved knives. From window shopping his grandfather’s collection as a kid, to taking up creating his own on a whim with the help of a neighbor, the fulfillment he gets from creating a blade is apparent in all his designs. Having recently hung up his day job as a home builder, Oeser has transitioned to full-time knife making, allowing him to craft some of the most stylish, refined blades out there.

INSPIRATION TAKES FORM

For Oeser, inspiration appears to come gradually, then all at once. He’ll sometimes draw out random handles and blades, combining them to see if anything sticks. Then a chance conversation (or friendly bet) with a friend results in the final element that brings an entire design together. From there, a flurry of pencil drawings quickly give way to holding the first prototype in his hand.

601 OESER TENGU

$220

A MODERN TRADITION

The 601 Tengu epitomizes the style of Oeser’s approach to knife design, a perfect blend of unique form and unrivaled function. His unique Tengu style is the most popular of his custom designs, and the refinements he brought to the 601—an updated geometry, flipper deployment, a leather carrying sleeve—make it stand out in any collection.
